If a person commits five thousand sins, they become a ghost of one of the five prisons. If they commit six thousand sins, they become one of the twenty-eight prisoners in the eighteen hells. Ghosts have six palaces in the heavenly realm.
There are seven thousand formulas in Dao which can grant immortality to mortals who cultivate them properly. Humans raise 36,000 deities! In this world, ghosts do not do what ghosts are supposed to do and humans are not what humans are supposed to be. Hell is empty; human beings inhabit prisons just like hell itself.
