The Quidditch game suddenly halted. Dumbledore was off with the professors in a hurry. This is obviously something big that happened.
The young wizards were all guessing that it must have something to do with George and Hermione falling from the sky, but as Professor McGonagall was blocking their way, they couldn't approach them directly to ask.
If it weren't for Professor McGonagall blocking their way, George and Hermione would have been surrounded by the curious young wizards and answered to their questions.
But despite this, various speculations were flying all over the place.
Of course, the most discussed topic was why George could fly with wings, whether he had learned some new spell or if he had the blood of a bird wizard.
It took almost two hours for Professor McGonagall to let the heads of the houses lead the young wizards back to the public common room of the castle in groups.
It turns out that Dumbledore and others had not found the basilisk in the castle, but had indeed found traces of its attack and the testimony of the oil painting character, believing that the basilisk had already hidden back in the secret chamber.
"George, Hermione, follow me!"
Only after all the young wizards had returned to the public common room did George and Hermione follow Professor McGonagall alone to Dumbledore's office as the headmaster.
"Should we tell about Harry and the diary next?"
On the way to the Headmaster's office, Hermione whispered.
Harry could hear the basilisk's whispers, as well as things about Riddle from the diary. These were Harry's secrets, and Harry was not eager to share them with the teacher for now. So Hermione was also struggling.
George had only mentioned that they were attacked by the basilisk, but hadn't revealed Harry's secret. She didn't know whether she should confess to the headmaster when he asked.
George thought for a moment and then whispered to Hermione:
"Let's not say anything for now. Go back and discuss with Harry, and see what he thinks."
"As long as we can prove that the monster in the secret chamber is a basilisk, not a spider, Hagrid won't be considered the carrier of the secret chamber and the murderer of Muggle Muggle."
He was afraid that if he said too much, the professors might follow the clues to find the entrance to the secret chamber. If they found the basilisk early, his plan would be in vain.
He didn't need Dumbledore to leave the school for long like the original novel, even just one day would be enough for him to go to the restricted area and record all those powerful dark spells.
"Okay, I understand."
Hermione nodded, and she too thought that such matters should be discussed with Harry before being revealed.
"Lemon ice cream!"
In front of the huge stone monster on the eighth floor, as Professor McGonagall uttered the spell, the monster suddenly came to life and jumped aside. A gap appeared in the wall behind it.
Behind the wall was a spiral staircase that was slowly rising, like an escalator.
"Follow me."
George and Hermione followed Professor McGonagall on the spiral staircase. The staircase rotated quickly and soon stopped at a door with a brass ring in the shape of a griffin.
Pushing open the shiny oak door, Dumbledore's office came into George's sight.
It was an expansive and beautiful circular room, filled with various comical whispers.
On the long-legged table were many strange silverware items rotating and spewing small puffs of smoke.
The walls were covered with portraits of past headmasters, both male and female, all softly snoring within their frames.
There was also a large table in the room, its feet in the shape of claws. On top of the table, there was a tall gilded perch where a beautiful bird with golden tail feathers stood.
It was clearly Dumbledore's pet Fawkes, the only Phoenix in the world that could be reborn from the fire and never die.
On a shelf behind the table, there was an old and worn-out, crumpled wizard's hat that was originally the sorting hat he wore when he first attended the school.
This was not the first time he had come to the headmaster's office. The last time he signed a contract to join the Quidditch team of England, it was also in the headmaster's office, and a photo was taken.
At the moment, Dumbledore and Snape were standing in front of the table, talking about something without seeing the other professors, presumably distributed around the castle to prevent the basilisk from appearing again.
"Headmaster, George and Miss Granger are here."
McGonagall's voice interrupted their discussion. They turned around in unison and looked at George and Hermione.
"All right, please take a seat, George and Miss Granger. Could you give me a more detailed account of what happened with the basilisk?"
Dumbledore kindly asked everyone to sit on the armchairs next to the office, and a house-trained elf brought them two glasses of juice.
George took the juice, and started to narrate the story in a composed manner.
He didn't mention that Hermione found the clue about the basilisk and came to find books in the library, but he just said that Hermione came to look for him to watch Quidditch, and then both of them left the library and encountered the basilisk's attack.
He used the Expelliarmus spell taught by Snape to defend against the basilisk and carried Hermione out of the way.
"I always thought that Severus taught you such dangerous spells too early, but now it seems I was wrong. You did a good job, but where did you learn your flying spell?"
Dumbledore was aware that Snape was teaching George the Expelliarmus spell, but Snape hadn't mentioned teaching George any flying spells. He had just confirmed this with Snape, who indeed had not taught it.
The key is that George's flying magic was different from the one Snape learned from Voldemort.
The flying spell Snape learned from Voldemort was to transform his body into a black shadow flying at high speed in the air, while George's was to grow wings on his back and then flap them to fly.
George stood up and cast the "Wing" spell, and once again, a pair of clean white magical wings appeared on his back.
"It was an accidental idea I had, a new spell I created, and I call it the 'Wing Magic'. It can create a pair of wings like birds, allowing me to fly."
There are many differences between magic in the Harry Potter world and Fairy Tail, but they are not completely different.
After some time of studying the basic principles of magic in both worlds, he found that if you delve deep enough, it's not impossible to convert between them.
For example, the magic in Fairy Tail could be used in the way of casting spells in the Harry Potter world, and with the wand's addition, its power would be greatly enhanced.
And the magic in the Harry Potter world can be cast using Fairy Tail's magic circle, directly saving the time of wand swinging and spell reciting.
With his current level of magical proficiency, he naturally couldn't do that, but engaging in a bit of theoretical chatter was no problem.
So when George showed the "Wing" magic and explained a small part of its principles using the magical theory of this world, Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall immediately believed him.
As the three of them, witches of legend and top-tier magic users, are well aware of the principles George spoke about regarding this "Wing" magic, which hadn't appeared in any magical texts before, and also had some practical feasibility.
