Grand Acupuncture Point is extremely important for those cultivating the Yang spirit, as it is the key to refining the Yang spirit.
"The Essentials of Huangting" states that the Yang spirit is the synthesis of spirituality and ancestral qi, although it is more refined than any postnatal object, it still has an essence of qi and is limited to the ancestral qi realm, unable to transcend into the realm of emptiness. Further efforts are needed to achieve a reunion with Dao through the refinement process. This refinement must be achieved with the assistance of the grand acupuncture point.
Furthermore, it is not only important for cultivating the Yang spirit.
For those practicing internal alchemy, refining and merging with Dao also require the assistance of the grand acupuncture point.
Zhong Li Quan once said:
Zhong Li Quan said: "The Yang spirit can be led out but not necessarily led in. When the cultivation has reached the point where the yin is fully exhausted and the yang is pure, the complete and healthy Yang spirit can be led to cultivate and nourish."
Zhong Li Quan said: "Although one can discard the physical body, it is best to conserve the original spirit. After a thousand fires and a thousand refining processes, one should forget the body and treat it as if it were empty space, using pure fire to refine it. The physical body, bones, and flesh will all be transformed along with the spirit. Form and spirit will again become one."
This is the refining of the essence and merging with the Dao, where both form and spirit are wondrous, aligning with the great Tao that permeates all changes and is present everywhere. It manifests in countless billions of manifestations, with great spiritual power, dispelling clouds and fog, moving mountains and filling seas. Only at this point can one be considered to have realized the Great Tao.
To cultivate this achievement, one must again lead the Yang spirit back to the Grand Acupuncture Point and refine it repeatedly. One must refine the spirit back to its original state of emptiness. The refined Yang spirit is lively and responsive, its wisdom shining like a divine fire that permeates the entire body through its many channels. The divine fire consumes the physical body, turning it into a mass of pure yang energy that fills the sky and penetrates every extremity. The refined body dissolves into the refined spirit, and finally achieves complete fusion of the divine fire with the physical body, resulting in a state where there is nothing but a void of infinite possibilities. This is where one reaches true unity with heaven and earth.
At this point, one can solidify into form or disperse into qi at will. They are immortal amidst calamities and have a life span equal to that of heaven and earth. Only when one reaches this level can they truly claim to have realized the Great Dao.
Of course, the Zhong-Lu school's practice of refining the spirit back to emptiness and merging emptiness with the Dao is at a single stage, referred to as refining the spirit into the Dao. This point is different from other alchemical practices.
The Grand Acupuncture Point is an uncommunicated secret, even teachers may not reveal its location to their disciples.
Therefore, when Chen Yun heard that the Western Queen Mother was willing to tell him where the Grand Acupuncture Point was, his entire being was slightly excited and almost readily agreed.
Fortunately, he quickly came to his senses, knowing that there is no such thing as a free lunch in heaven.
Chen Yun paid respect and asked, "What is it, venerable ancestor, that you wish to tell me?"
The Western Queen Mother did not become angry because Chen Yun did not agree, she softly spoke, "Gou Teng has always been one of our disciples. If he dies in such a way, it is really a pity. Therefore, I want to 'revive' him."
Upon hearing this, Chen Yun furrowed his brows.
Soul-body dissolution is true death for most sacred beings, and it is almost irreversible.
The Western Queen Mother is certainly not among the majority of sacred beings.
She is a Supreme God of Primordial Origin, possessing extraordinary great methods.
Chen Yun has reason to believe that the venerable ancestor has the ability to bring those who have been reduced to soul-body dissolution back to life.
And he believes that the Western Queen Mother, in appearance, is discussing with him, but in reality, she has already prepared to do so.
That is to say, whether or not he agrees, in actuality, is not important.
Agreeing will allow him to know the location of the Grand Acupuncture Point and the Western Queen Mother will help him cultivate the Yang spirit, as if there is some return.
If he does not agree, it might make the venerable ancestor very unhappy, and he might even not get anything at all.
It seems that agreeing is the better choice overall.
Chen Yun naturally understood the principle, but he still spoke directly, "I am unable to disagree with the venerable ancestor's wish to 'revive' Gou Teng, but I cannot personally agree to it."
The Western Queen Mother remained calm, showing no signs of anger, "Do you not want to know where the Grand Acupuncture Point is? Or do you not want me to help you quickly cultivate the Yang spirit and merge with Dao through refining?"
Chen Yun replied, "Disciple naturally hopes to know where the Grand Acupuncture Point is and also wants to quickly cultivate the Yang spirit, but under such conditions, I really cannot agree. Remember when Gou Teng and I had no enmity; he allowed his adopted daughter Shen Xiu to ambush me, nearly causing my soul and body to be annihilated. After I barely survived, he again allowed Shen Xiu and her disciple Xuanzhenzi, together with Dong Miaoyao, to attack me. I reciprocated by wiping out his entire family. Up to this point, this matter can be bygones. Unfortunately, he joined forces with Xie Wu Yang to wantonly kill me. May I ask the venerable ancestor, if you had such great animosity with someone, could you forgive them?"
The Western Queen Mother replied, "No."
Chen Yun said, "Disciple also cannot, so I cannot agree."
The Western Queen Mother revealed a look of great approval, "A cultivator with a heart as firm as a rock in pursuit of the Great Dao is not tempted by gain, but steadfast in his inner resolve. With such determination, you will surely attain the Great Dao in the future."
Chen Yun replied with humility, "The venerable ancestor overpraises me."
The Western Queen Mother spoke slowly, "If I 'revive' Gou Teng and have him worship you as his master, do you think this can resolve the grievances?"
Upon hearing this, Chen Yun was taken aback.
There is a saying in Jiang Taigong's "Tai Gong Teachings": "A disciple should respect his teacher as much as his father."
This means that a student should respect his teacher as much as his father. Even if he served only for one day, he should respect him for the rest of his life just as he would his father.
It is easy to imagine the relationship between masters and disciples in ancient times.
For example, Chen Yun treats Zhong Li Quan with the utmost respect, almost as if he were his father.
If Gou Teng Dao Ren really worshipped Chen Yun as his master, then the previous grievances could not be solved.
Chen Yun hesitated and asked, "Even if I agree to this, Gou Teng might not be willing to accept it, right?"
The Western Queen Mother said, "As long as you agree, he will definitely agree."
After some thought, Chen Yun replied, "If that's the case, I can agree to the proposal of the venerable ancestor."
The Western Queen Mother nodded slightly and said, "Very well, I will 'revive' him."
After speaking, she did not make any movements, but simply pointed her finger.
A powerful force surged forth from the void, converging onto the Gouteng tree.
In the next moment, the Gouteng tree shone brilliantly, gradually shaping and condensing into a child of about 15-16 years old.
Chen Yun was stunned by the sight.
He had thought that the Western Queen Mother would restore Gou Teng to his original appearance, but to his surprise, it was a child.
He was a little confused about what was going on.
Fortunately, the Western Queen Mother explained, "I have already revived Gou Teng. He now has no memory of his past life and is like a blank piece of paper that still needs you to carefully cultivate him."
Chen Yun hurriedly replied, "I will strictly follow the decree of the venerable ancestor."
He realized that the Western Queen Mother had been testing him just now.
If he had agreed to that proposal earlier, the Western Queen Mother might have revealed the location of the Grand Acupuncture Point, but she would certainly not have put her heart and soul into helping him cultivate his Yang spirit.
By not agreeing, it showed that his spiritual resolve was very strong, and she could teach him with all her heart and knowledge.
Chen Yun didn't expect that even as he was close to reaching the level of immortality, he still couldn't escape being "tested."
Chen Yun's heart suddenly had a mix of laughter and helplessness. These sacred beings liked to play this game, testing others at every opportunity.
The Western Queen Mother said, "Gou Teng, he will be your master from now on. I bear witness here that you should perform a triple kneel and nine bow to him as your master."
Although Gou Teng was like a blank slate, having been transformed into a human form, he still possessed great wisdom.
He quickly knelt down in front of Chen Yun, nodding his head and in a babyish voice, said, "Greeting my master."
He performed three prostrations and nine bows with meticulous care.
Chen Yun had a slight prejudice against Gou Teng in his heart, even though he had become a child without any memories of his past life. He only raised his hand and said calmly, "No need for such formalities, get up."
"Thank you, master," Gou Teng pushed himself up with his small hands and feet.
The Western Queen Mother said, "When you can no longer harbor any resentment towards him, that will be the time you attain the status of a Celestial Immortal."
My prejudice towards him or not has nothing to do with attaining the status of a Celestial Immortal.
Chen Yun did not understand what this meant, but he knew the Western Queen Mother would not aimlessly point out this, so he hastily replied, "Disciple will keep this in mind."
"It's best if you remember, but it's fine if you don't." The Western Queen Mother said meaningfully, "When you reach a certain level, you will naturally understand."
Chen Yun was also thinking the same thing.
The Western Queen Mother changed the topic and said, "The Grand Acupuncture Point is extremely important for those who are practicing internal alchemical refinement. Many people may know its general location, but they can never find its true whereabouts. I presume you have also tried to locate it."
Chen Yun replied, "Yes."
This was indeed true. Chen Yun knew that the Grand Acupuncture Point was in the middle of the triangle formed by the center of his eyebrows, both eyes, but he had never been able to find it no matter how hard he searched before.
It was like trying to see flowers in the fog; he knew the flowers were in front of him, but could not determine their exact location.
The Western Queen Mother spoke slowly, "Each person's physical body is different, so there is a bit of deviation in the location of the Grand Acupuncture Point. It's only natural that you couldn't find it accurately. Well, let me help you locate the exact position of the Grand Acupuncture Point."
As she spoke, she pointed her finger once again.
Chen Yun felt a dizziness and then fell to the ground.
Gou Teng was startled and quickly ran up to Chen Yun, calling out loudly, "Master, what's wrong with you? Master, are you alright?"
Unfortunately, Gou Teng's cries were inaudible to Chen Yun.
The Western Queen Mother stood up and said, "Your master is in a mysterious realm. You don't need to disturb him, go play outside."
"Ah!"
Gou Teng was very obedient and walked outside, but he was worried about his new master and kept looking back as he walked, almost taking three steps before turning around once.
……
At this moment, Chen Yun indeed could not hear any sound from the outside world.
Or, he could feel nothing in the world, and he was trapped in a strange state.
He seemed to have no soul, no body, no mind, and couldn't feel the existence of time or space.
It was as if he had never existed at all.
Perhaps it was just a moment.
Or perhaps it had already passed a thousand years.
One day, Chen Yun "woke up" and saw a few twinkles of light before his eyes.
At this moment, his mind was still, his thoughts at rest, his body like a mummy, his heart like still water, his will like ashen gray, without a single thought, one intention returning to the center, all sounds silent, both body and mind forgotten, vague and dreamlike, obscure and boundless, as if alive or dead.
Suddenly, a sensation like electricity surged and roared through his body.
It gave Chen Yun a tingling sensation like being shocked, his whole body feeling numb, yet he also felt an inexplicably pleasant comfort.
He didn't know what kind of incredible feeling this was, but he knew that he had never experienced it before.
After a while, Chen Yun truly woke up.
It was not a physical awakening, but the true awakening of his spiritual essence.
He only felt refreshed, energized, and perceiving things more clearly.
It was as if all the mysteries of the heavens and earth had disappeared from his eyes, leaving only purity behind.
Chen Yun saw a "Divine Flower" slowly coalescing.
Unfortunately, it seemed that there was a shortage of power, and it could not take shape.
……
Awakened.
This time, it was the physical awakening.
Chen Yun slowly opened his eyes.
He realized that he was lying on the ground.
And he could clearly feel the location of his Grand Acupuncture Point.
There was no deviation at all, because the divine essence was right there inside!
The voice of the Western Queen Mother echoed in his ears, "Awakened?"
Chen Yun quickly got to his feet and bowed, saying, "Thank you, the venerable ancestor, for enlightening me on the location of the Grand Acupuncture Point."
The Western Queen Mother smiled for the first time, "You have a high level of insight. You have awakened in four hours; an ordinary person might not wake up for a month. Not bad."
Chen Yun asked, "Venerable ancestor, I had a feeling that I was completely turned into nothingness just now. What does this mean?"
The Western Queen Mother said, "Only through refining emptiness can one harmonize with the Dao. This emptiness is a state that transcends the boundaries between matter and spirit, achieving a realm where one is in harmony with the fundamental Dao of the world. I had you experience this early on so that in the future, if you truly refine emptiness and merge with the Dao, it would be easier for you."
Ah?
So, I experienced the process of refining emptiness and merging with the Dao just now?
Chen Yun immediately knew that he had indeed benefited greatly this time.
The Western Queen Mother continued to speak slowly, "One who concentrates their spirit allows it to blend with essence and qi. When essence, qi, and spirit are unified, the Yang spirit is produced. The essence of refining one's form lies in the concentration of one's spirit; when the spirit is concentrated, Qi gathers, and when Qi gathers, the elixir is formed. The method of refining the Yang spirit is essentially like this; if you can understand this principle, the Yang spirit will naturally emerge."
Chen Yun memorized all of this and said, "Thank you, the venerable ancestor, for imparting the teachings."
The Western Queen Mother said, "The method of refining the Yang spirit requires you to meditate on your own. As I said earlier, I will assist you, and it's not just by telling you where the Grand Acupuncture Point is and how to refine it. I will also give you some additional help."
Chen Yun said contentedly, "To know the location of the Grand Acupuncture Point and the refining method is enough for a student. I dare not be greedy for more."
"Not a problem." The Western Queen Mother snapped her finger, and a point of divine light appeared, "Please receive this point of divine light into your Grand Acupuncture Point. Whenever you refine the Yang spirit, it will naturally circulate and can double your efforts. I hope you can soon refine out the Yang spirit and achieve the Three Flowers United with the Dome."
Chen Yun carefully held the divine light in his hands and inhaled it into his body using secret methods, then transported it to the Grand Acupuncture Point.
He was about to say some more words of thanks.
Unexpectedly, the Western Queen Mother waved her hand and said, "Go back now. Gou Teng is outside; take him with you."
Chen Yun dared not disobey, saying, "Student leaves."
After speaking, he turned around and left.
Outside, Gou Teng was crouching beside a seven-colored flower, looking at it intently, with a celestial maiden beside him.
Chen Yun first greeted the celestial maiden and then called out, "Gou Teng, follow me back to the mortal realm as my disciple."
"Oh." Gou Teng turned his head to look, "Master, can I pluck this small flower?"
The celestial maiden's expression clearly changed.
Chen Yun noticed and replied casually, "No."
Gou Teng pouted and said, "Alright."
The two were preparing to leave.
The celestial maiden suddenly called out, "Chen Realm Lord, since he likes this small flower, let him take it away with him."
Chen Yun felt somewhat strange.
Just now, when Gou Teng said he wanted to pick the flower, the celestial maiden seemed to have a bad expression.
How suddenly did she change her mind?
He thought for a moment and knew what was going on. It must be that the Western Queen Mother had communicated with her spirit.
Chen Yun thought to himself, could there be some mystery to this seven-colored flower?
Although he didn't understand why, as long as the other side said so, he wouldn't refuse. "Gou Teng, thank you, celestial maiden."
Gou Teng was overjoyed and jumped up and down, saying, "Thank you, sister celestial maiden."
After saying that, he squatted down and pulled out the seven-colored flower, roots and all, carefully stuffing it into his sleeve.
Chen Yun helplessly shook his head and turned to say, "Please, celestial maiden, send us out."
The celestial maiden extended her hand towards the outside and said, "Very well, Chen Realm Lord, please follow me."
Chen Yun led Gou Teng outside. To leave the Kunlun Wonderland, one must pass through the Nine Streams of Weak Water and the Ten Thousand Great Waves, and it is necessary to ride on a swift car wheel to get out, otherwise it's impossible. Therefore, he needed the celestial maiden to send them out.
Throughout the journey, his mood was good.
The gain from today's visit to Kunlun was indeed huge.
Not only did he learn the specific location of the Grand Acupuncture Point, but he also gained the method to refine the Yang spirit, as well as a point of divine light bestowed by the Western Queen Mother.
With these things, as well as the Pure Yang Fire Dragon Pill that Lu Dongbin helped him refine, as long as he can figure out the fifth level of the "Chen Xiansheng Internal Energy Scripture," it's not far from refining out the Yang spirit.
Chen Yun was greatly moved. Finally, it was time for him to refine the Yang spirit!
