In the cave, Chen Yun decided to create the fourth transformation of the "Master Chen's Internal Elixir Secret" and then strive for the realm of a celestial immortal.

Thinking of this, he looked at Niu Dali, "Brother Niu, I have gained some insights in my practice. At this critical point, it may be impossible for me to go out to seek treasure for a short period. If you are afraid that it will waste your time, perhaps you can go and explore by yourself first. When I finish my own matters, I will follow you and we will meet again."

Niu Dali said with a serious face, "True Man Chen, you accompany me along the way, which is itself a partner. Now that your cultivation has reached a critical point, I suppose you need someone to protect you. As your partner, how can I leave when you need protection? You don't need to say more. No matter how long it takes, I will protect you."

Upon hearing this, Chen Yun couldn't help but be moved.

Niu Dali is a person who truly has enough righteousness.

The duration of my interaction with the other party was not long.

Yet, he was so candid and poured out his heart.

This made him feel even better about Niu Dali.

Chen Yun did not continue to be polite to the other party, "Alright, Brother Niu is so just and generous. Chen will not refuse such kindness."

Niu Dali said, "Master Chen, you just continue with your cultivation. I will guard the cave entrance. If you need anything, just let me know. Other times, I won't disturb you."

Chen Yun said, "Very well, thank you, Brother Niu."

    A brief chat was had.

Chen Yun calmed his mind once more.

He began to contemplate the matter of creating the fourth transformation of "Master Chen's Internal Elixir Secret."

This transformation requires a necessary setting, that is, the spirit must definitely leave the body.

When creating the third transformation of the skill, Chen Yun had already been laying the groundwork for the spirit to leave the body.

When creating the third transformation, Chen Yun had already been preparing for the spirit to leave the body. The third transformation produced an image of the spirit, although it couldn't leave the body itself, it had already been endowed with "soul," just not "corpse," so it couldn't leave the body.

So, the most important thing in the fourth transformation skill is to endow the spirit with "corpse," so that it can successfully leave the body.

"How can I bestow 'corpse' upon the spirit, while also incorporating all my lifetime of learning into it?"

Chen Yun sat there in deep contemplation.

In fact, he had already gotten a rough idea of it when he almost realized the true form of Buddha in the previous attempt.

However, there were still some details that needed to be refined, so he hadn't immediately created this transformation's skill.

As long as he finishes refining those details, the fourth transformation skill will naturally emerge.

"This detail is that I need to incorporate 'Pangu True Body Secret' into it. The fourth level of 'Pangu True Body Secret' is pure yin refinement, in a nutshell, I need to 'cultivate inner yin' in my body."

Chen Yun felt the trouble was that his practice of internal alchemy was destined for the cultivation of the "Yang Spirit."

As the "Yang Spirit" is a pure Yang entity, why is it necessary to "cultivate inner yin" when refining the spirit?

Chen Yun remembered that his master had discussed the Yang Spirit with Lu Dongbin.

Lu Dongbin, the Yang Spirit, went on a tour to visit his master, and happened to find Tie Guan Li also in Zhongshan Mountain.

The three were talking, and Lu Dongbin said, "There is something I don't understand."

Zhongli Quan said, "What is it?"

Lu Dongbin asked, "What is the difference between Yin Spirit and Yang Spirit?"

Zhongli Quan said, "A spirit without any yang but only yin is a ghost; a spirit with both yin and yang is a Yin Spirit; and a spirit without any yin but only yang is a Yang Spirit. After humans die, their souls detach from their bodies and become ghosts; cultivators whose yin energy is not yet exhausted but who have released their spirits prematurely are called Yin Spirits. When they leave, it may be through the eyes, seeing white light like a river, or through the ears, hearing the sound of bells and chimes; depending on whether the yang energy within them is strong enough to break through the heavens or not. Since their yang energy is not strong enough to forcefully break through the heavenly gate, they take an alternative path that suits them. After leaving the body, they also enjoy freedom and happiness, walking through streets and alleys, by rivers and mountains. They can take shape but cannot divide themselves into multiple forms. They can wander among humans but cannot transform into other forms or fly. If it's midsummer with the sun at its zenith, Yin Spirits will fear it and avoid it. Therefore, though they have an aura of immortality, they still haven't escaped from the realm of ghosts."

Lu Dongbin said, "Can Yin Spirits be refined into Yang Spirits?"

Zhongli Quan said, "Yes. Those who study immortality are not satisfied with small achievements. They can continue to cultivate their Yin Spirits after they emerge, shattering the original form of their Yin Spirits. When their yin energy is exhausted and their yang energy is pure, the true man will manifest."

Lu Dongbin asked again, "How can the original form be shattered?"

Zhongli Quan said, "By forgetting the body, emptying the mind, and making it a hollow space where nothing can be generated, one can exchange ordinary flesh for spiritual flesh and transform ordinary people into true men. After that, he looked at Tie Guan Li and then smilingly said: 'It is also possible to consume the immortality pill of Emperor Taishang Laojun.'"

Tie Guan Li wanted to speak but stopped himself.

Zhongli Quan continued, "Normally, people don't have such opportunities for immortality!"

Tie Guan Li told Lu Dongbin, "Pure Yang, you have nothing to worry about. You are already a pure yang spirit."

There is a very crucial point in this conversation, that is, "When yin is exhausted and yang is pure, one can refine the Yang Spirit."

As Chen Yun has inherited the "Rectifying the Misconceptions Song," he naturally knows how to achieve "yin exhausted and yang pure" in order to refine the Yang Spirit.

For instance, he found it relatively easy to create the third transformation of "Master Chen's Internal Elixir Secret," as it required "cultivating inner yang," which was consistent with the goal of refining the Yang Spirit.

So, how should one "cultivate inner yin" when integrating the fourth level of "Pangu True Body Secret"?

Or, "cultivating inner yin" might affect the future cultivation of the Yang Spirit.

Chen Yun felt that he must have missed something, which was why he couldn't think of how to integrate it.

"Ah, I remember that once, Wang Laoshi had mentioned the entire process. I'll recall and review what Master and Brother Lu said next."

Chen Yun closed his eyes and began to recall.

He remembered that Wang Laoshi had said this at that time:

Lu Dongbin asked, "Once the Yang Spirit emerges, does that mean one has achieved the completion of cultivation and the path?"

Zhongli Quan said, "Asking a good question! There are two options: one is to stop here and enjoy the freedom and happiness in the vastness of space, soaring across thousands of miles, standing at the top of mountains and observing the sea. Or they can play among humans, with endless changes and following their hearts. They don't care about their bodies, treating them like dirt; they discard them, either leaving them in a small cottage cave or in a remote wilderness area, leaving behind their bodies as they fly away. This is a quick way to achieve immortality, and many cultivators are content with this. However, this is still a lower method; although they have achieved enlightenment, they have not truly attained the Great Way."

Lu Dongbin asked, "What is the second option?"

Zhongli Quan said, "The second option is for the aspirants who do not seek quick results and are willing to engage in more laborious cultivation. The Yang Spirit can emerge but does not do so. When the cultivation reaches the point where yin is exhausted and yang is pure, the Yang Spirit becomes complete before leading and nurturing it further; the physical body can be abandoned but is not. One conserves the primordial spirit, undergoes countless burnings and refinements, forgetting it as vast as the void, and being cooked by pure fire. The physical form and flesh are transformed along with it, restoring the unity of form and spirit. This is called refining emptiness into harmony with the Tao, where both form and spirit are exquisite, harmonizing with the Great Way that permeates all transformations and is omnipresent. It manifests in billions of manifestations, with vast abilities to disperse clouds and mist, move mountains and fill seas. Only then can one be said to have realized the Great Way."

Lu Dongbin asked, "What should I do next?"

Zhongli Quan said, "To refine this skill, one must first re-incorporate the Yang Spirit into the ancestral cave within, refining it repeatedly. By refining the spirit back to its original emptiness, the Yang Spirit becomes increasingly vigorous. Its wisdom's light generates divine fire that permeates throughout the body's hundred pores. The fiery aura rises up, penetrating through every inch of the body, and refines the physical body into the Yang Spirit, illuminating everywhere. Finally, one achieves an all-encompassing divine fire throughout the entire body. The physical body disintegrates and is shattered into a primordial ancestral essence that is neither real nor unreal, invisible and imperceptible, returning to its origin in emptiness and achieving unity with heaven and earth. Once one reaches this level of cultivation, he can solidify his form or dissipate as vapor; he remains unchanged even in times of calamity and his lifespan equals that of heaven and earth. Only then has one truly realized the Great Way."

A thought struck Chen Yun at this point, "Wait a moment! I seem to have realized something I've overlooked!"

According to Zhongli Quan's words, even if one has cultivated the Yang Spirit, it does not mean that they have attained the Great Way. One must still refine emptiness into harmony with the Tao and achieve both exquisite form and spirit to consider their cultivation complete.

"The Yang Spirit emerges from the cave but has not yet certified the Great Way. Further cultivation is needed. I am currently cultivating the essence spirit, but can't I wait until the essence spirit emerges and then begin to 'cultivate yang' to refine the Yang Spirit?"

Chen Yun suddenly understood, finally realizing that he had been stuck in a narrow-minded perspective, thinking that the emergence of the essence spirit must be closely aligned with the steps of cultivating the Yang Spirit.

In fact, it's not like that. One can completely refine the essence spirit first and then refine the Yang Spirit later.

That is to say, the fourth transformation is the fourth transformation, and the emergence of the Yang Spirit is the emergence of the Yang Spirit.

"Once I have my essence spirit, if I create a cultivation method for refining the Yang Spirit, then everything should fall into place smoothly?"

After understanding this, Chen Yun knew what he needed to do next.

He no longer had any hesitation and began to merge and create the fourth transformation cultivation method using all his life's knowledge.

Because of his profound insights from before, merging and creating the cultivation method was simple for him now.

Chen Yun was experimenting within his body while creating the fourth transformation cultivation method.

    …

    A day passed quickly.

Chen Yun was immersed in creating the cultivation method and felt incredibly satisfied.

At first, it went quite smoothly.

However, when he tried to integrate the "Cultivation of the Pangu True Body" method's "nurturing inner yin," he encountered another trouble.

The problem was that in his third turn "cultivating inner yang," his whole body was filled with pure yang, making it impossible to "cultivate inner yin."

"I need to absorb the 'Yin' spiritual qi from the outside and cultivate 'Inner Yin' within my body."

Chen Yun had experience with "nurturing inner yang" and knew how to choose the right time to absorb the 'Yin' spiritual qi from the outside.

"The midnight of the hour of the Wood element, which represents the time when the coldest air is most heavy, symbolizes that the 'Yin' spiritual qi is abundant at this point in time."

Chen Yun pondered carefully, "And every sixth, sixteenth, and twenty-sixth day of the month are the days when the yin energy is at its heaviest. I only need to cultivate and absorb 'Yin' spiritual qi at night in these three time periods. In this way, I should be able to successfully cultivate inner yin. This is similar to how the third turn requires absorbing 'outer yang' during noontime on the ninth, nineteenth and twenty-ninth days of each month. Nine represents yang while six represents yin."

All the problems were solved effortlessly!

Chen Yun's speed of creating the cultivation method was incredibly rapid.

    …

    Three days later.

He finally created the first version of the fourth turn cultivation method.

At this moment, Chen Yun was staring at the words of the cultivation method that he had written on the ground, "Choose the initial sixth, sixteenth, and twenty-sixth day of each month, at midnight. After washing up and entering a meditative room to sit cross-legged with eyes closed. Strike your teeth thirty-six times, tranquilize your mind and close your breath. At this time of closing breath, it differs from before; directly ensure that there is no in or out breathing in your nose until true qi is filled inside the body. Qi permeates through the tongue orifices. The saliva in the mouth overflows, then swallow it slowly with mindfulness that it returns to the heart. The saliva stimulated by returning to the heart ignites the fire of heart spirit; it warms up the whole body. Five internal organs feel hot; sweat slightly appears on the body; limbs are comfortable. This is one cycle. On every twenty-sixth day, perform such exercises three times and then cease."

Again, he secretly pondered, "According to my imagination, the following effects will be achieved in this cultivation method."

Firstly, one can let the essence spirit emerge from the cave.

Secondly, because it integrates many cultivation methods, according to Chen Yun's imagination, once cultivated to the middle stage, the elixir light within the body will radiate from the crown chakra like a full moon, enveloping the body. Not only can this make oneself immune to colds, heat, wind, and frost, maintaining a consistent state throughout the four seasons, but this elixir light is also comparable to a defensive type of treasure. Its defensive power is astonishing.

Moreover, the physical body will also become stronger at this level.

On one hand, there is the release of elixir light for defense, and on the other hand, the physical body is incredibly strong.

It can be said that once the fourth turn is mastered, it will be almost impossible for others to break through one's defense.

Unless there is some secret method that directly attacks one's essence spirit, or some powerful artifact.

Of course, up to this point, it is not the full effect of the fourth turn.

While creating this turn of the cultivation method, Chen Yun also incorporated the "Taiping Qingling Shu."

He felt that once he could cultivate the fourth turn, he would possess incredible "perception abilities."

For instance, he can observe the situations of countless realms and perceive the fortunes and misfortunes of himself by sitting at home.

It is not certain yet whether he will ultimately achieve such effects.

Chen Yun was only guessing the effects of the cultivation method according to those integrated.

"Alright, since the cultivation method has been created, let's try it out."

Chen Yun looked at Niu Dali, who was sitting with his back to him at the entrance of the cave, and thought to himself, "I've written the cultivation method on the ground here, and he hasn't even glanced at it once. This brother Niu truly is a gentleman."

He waved his hand, and the incantation written on the ground vanished.

Chen Yun asked, "Brother Niu, do you know what day it is today?"

Niu Dali turned his head, counted the days with his fingers, "We arrived at the Moon Lake cave of the Taoist Daoism realm at the beginning of spring. Now it has been over a month since we entered, and today is exactly the fifth day."

    The fifth day.

Only one day left until the time he had set for his cultivation practice.

Chen Yun has wasted so many days on his cultivation to the third turn and creation of the fourth turn cultivation method, so he doesn't mind waiting an extra day.

Thinking about it, he said, "I may still have to stay here for about a month, this is a conservative estimate. Brother Niu, can you wait?"

Niu Dali laughed, "What's there not to wait for? The old ox I used to be when I was a calf endured long years of solitude before I finally became a spirit beast. If I can't wait a month, what's the point of pursuing immortality?"

That was clearly a comforting statement for Chen Yun.

The cultivation in everyday life and inside the Moon Lake cave is completely different.

Outside, even if I cultivate for a hundred years, nothing would happen.

The Moon Lake cave has a time limit; once a year passes, there is a risk of danger if one does not leave.

When everyone enters the Moon Lake cave, who isn't seeking to explore more treasures? Time is money in the Moon Lake cave.

But Niu Dali is willing to sacrifice precious time to protect Chen Yun, this kind of friendship is truly commendable.

Chen Yun remembered the other party's kindness in his heart and thought that no matter what happens in the future, he must help them back.

However, he's not a sentimental person, and the gratitude didn't show on his face, "Okay, thank you, Brother Niu."

    …

    A day passed quickly.

The night half of the hour is approaching quickly.

Chen Yun's face became serious, "Brother Niu, I am now about to engage in an extremely important cultivation. Tonight, I trouble you to guard me. No matter what happens next, even if the sky collapses and the earth splits apart, no one must disturb me. Can you do that?"

Seeing Chen Yun speak with such seriousness and confidence, Niu Dali replied resolutely, "You can rest assured, Chen Immortal. Tonight, unless someone steps over my body to get to you, I will definitely not allow anyone to disturb your cultivation."

Chen Yun again expressed his gratitude and finally immersed himself in thoughts, preparing to break through the ground immortal realm!
