Stars shone one by one.
Infinite planets revolved around the sun.
There were also vast, desolate moons.
And comets, asteroids, and so on.
As if, at this moment, the Ten- directions Destruction Array has turned into a true cosmic space.
Liang Zhen looked on in awe.
The group of cultivators and soldiers outside all showed expressions of astonishment.
Who would have thought that Chen Yun would actually use the Ten- Directions Destruction Array to create such a scene?
"This..."
"Mr. Chen has evolved the sun, moon, and stars?"
"So many suns and moons?"
"Isn't our world just the alternation of one sun and one moon?"
The crowd, upon seeing the environment within the great array, burst into a commotion.
Huang Wanyou initially also looked perplexed, "Such an overwhelming number of shining suns and stars?"
Cai Rujin seemed to have figured something out and guessed, "I refine the inner dan to the stage of Yangshen. The divine light will illuminate the myriad realms. Could it be that Master Chen's intention is to refer to the image of Yangshen's divine light projected onto myriad realms?"
"That's possible," Mr. Geng echoed, then his expression turned puzzled, "But when I used my magic to peer into the cosmos, it was hazy and indistinct, but the shape seemed a bit similar to what Master Chen has evolved. The only difference is that the true cosmic stars shine brightly, but these so-called stars in front of us look more like planets, which is truly confusing."
Zhang Jianming kept staring intently at the cosmic appearance within the great array, watching and observing. "Although the universe evolved by Master Chen through the Ten- Directions Destruction Array is different from the universe we know, for some reason, just by watching the evolution process, I gained a new understanding of Tao, as if my cultivation had improved slightly."
"Yes, I have that feeling too."
"Yes, I've been at the late stage of an upper-grade mage for over a hundred years without any progress. Now, after observing Master Chen evolving the universe, it feels as if the Qi flows like water, as if a breakthrough is about to happen."
"Whether or not Master Chen's evolved universe is similar to the true cosmos, just by watching its process, I've gained immeasurable benefits. This only means one thing - that Master Chen's understanding of Tao is far beyond ours, and moreover, he can demonstrate it through the Ten- Directions Destruction Array, allowing us to observe and learn."
A group of cultivators were exclaiming over there.
They didn't know what was happening with the universe evolved by Chen Yun.
The only thing that is clear is that after seeing the entire process of the universe evolved by Chen Yun, everyone's understanding of cultivation and Tao has been elevated to a new level.
The cultivators in the crowd quietly admired Chen Master, who was truly a grand master.
......
Inside the great array.
Liang Zhen was amidst an endless sea of stars, his face filled with shock as he said, "What... what is this place?"
Controlling the overall situation, waving his divine sword, and still trying to evolve, Chen Yun indifferently said, "Cosmos."
Liang Zhen immediately denied, "It's not possible, the cosmos is not in such a shape."
Chen Yun knew why Liang Zhen would say that.
Because the cosmological view of ancient people is different from modern times.
There were three cosmological views in ancient times.
The first can be described metaphorically as: "The sky is round like an inverted bowl, and the earth is flat like a chessboard."
The Canopy Theory is a very ancient cosmological view of the Han nationality. It appeared as early as the Shang and Zhou Dynasties.
In the eyes of the ancients, the Earth was a flat, square landmass, and the sky was like a circular roof covering the entire Earth.
That's exactly what we commonly refer to as "sky round and earth square."
The ancients believed that the sky and the earth were connected and merged into one.
But as time went on, later people proposed that in fact, the sky and the earth did not actually touch each other.
Although the sky covers the earth, as the earth is square, there are four corners that it cannot cover.
So, some people believed that there were eight columns supporting the entire sky at those four corners.
Later, the myth of Nuwa supporting the sky with her feet was born.
The Canopy Theory is described in the "Tenure of the Sky and Earth" chapter of the "Book of Jin Dynasty".
It records that: "Say the sky is like an inverted bowl, and the earth is flat like a disk. The center of the sky is higher than the outer edge, and the center of the earth is lower than the outer edge. The north pole is at the center of heaven and earth, which is the highest land on earth and spreads to all four directions. The three lights are hidden and mirrored, forming day and night. The center of heaven is six hundred thousand li higher than the equatorial line at winter solstice day. The land below the north pole is six hundred thousand li higher than the equatorial line, and the equatorial line is two hundred thousand li higher than the land below the north pole. The earth rises high above heaven and follows it in shape, with sun always being eight hundred thousand li away from land."
According to this view, the sky is an arch shape, and the earth is also an arch shape, with a distance of eight thousand miles between them.
Wang Chong, a famous philosopher in the Eastern Han Dynasty, believed, "If one tries to carry a large torch and travel on an even ground at night, ten miles away from people, the light of the torch will disappear. It is not that the torch has been extinguished, but that it has only dispersed far away." He continued, "The setting sun moves westward and disappears without seeing it again, which is similar to the extinction of a torch."
Secondly, there is the mainstream "Hun Tian Theory" in the current world.
The basic view of the Hun Tian Theory holds that the stars in the sky are distributed on a "Celestial Sphere."
And the sun, moon, stars, and other celestial bodies are all attached to the celestial sphere and rotate continuously.
This point is undoubtedly similar to modern spherical astronomy.
Why is it called "Hun Tian" then?
What is the view on heaven and earth according to this theory?
The description of the Hun Tian Theory can be found in "Zhang Heng's Commentary on the Suzhou."
It records: "The Hun Tian theory is like an egg. The celestial bodies are round like a ball, and the earth is the yellow center of an egg, which stands alone within it. The heaven is much larger than the earth. There is water on the surface of heaven, and heaven's exterior envelops the earth like a shell envelops the yellow center. Heaven and earth stand on each other's qi, carrying water to float. The path of the sun is 360 degrees and four-tenths of a degree, and it is divided in half to be one-half over the earth and one-half around it. The twenty-eight stars are half visible and half hidden because they are positioned at either end of the north and south poles."
The third theory is Xuan Ye, which states that the sky has no form.
From the two previous astronomical views, either the Canopy Theory or the Hun Tian Theory, both view celestial bodies as spheres, which is a concept of solid matter.
In comparison to these two views, Xuan Ye's theory is undoubtedly a intellectual revolution.
The Xuan Ye theory holds that "the sun, moon, and stars naturally float in the void, and their movement and rest all depend on the existence of air."
That is, the entire celestial body floats in a gas.
In fact, the origins of the Xuan Ye theory are extremely early.
For example, the Zhuangzi in the Book of Chuang Tzu believes, "Is the sky so vast that its true color is faint blue? Is it so far away that it has no end?"
That is, the entire heaven and earth are composed of Qi and are infinite.
Later, Song Jiang and Yin Wen inherited Zhuangzi's concept of primordial Qi, tracing the origin of all things in the world back to "primordial Qi."
Indeed, Xuan Ye's theory is already very close to the modern understanding of the universe.
In other words, the universe of this world is essentially Xuan Ye's theory.
The only difference is that there are no stars or planets within the universe.
There are only true stars.
The stars that illuminate all realms.
As a great master of the Taoist school, Liang Zhen naturally had observed the universe and knew what it looked like.
It is precisely because of this that when he saw the universe evolved by Lu Li, he would immediately deny it.
Chen Yun naturally also knew what the universe of this world looked like.
He also didn't know why the universe would transform into that appearance later.
Thinking, Chen Yun indifferently said, "The Tao has countless heavens and worlds. The Taoist scripture says that the Supreme Ultimate Lord: encompasses all ten thousand billions of the Great Universe, reduces it to tiny dust, and each dust contains ten thousand billions of other universes. Furthermore, all these other universes are also reduced to tiny dusts, and each dust contains ten thousand billions of other universes. Therefore, according to this calculation, even if I were to use my body light as a comparison, I would still not be able to count one out of these ten thousand billions; yet there is no limit beyond the boundless limit, and there is no end within the endless middle. There is no limit beyond the boundless limit, and there is no end within the endless middle. Dao Brother Liang, are you certain that every world in every heaven in every universe is exactly like the world we are in?"
Liang Zhen pondered in silence for a long time before finally enlighteningly lifting his head and bowing deeply to Chen Yun, "Learn from you, Chen Dao Brother."
Chen Yun smiled as he looked over, "It should be me thanking you, for using the Ten Directions Annihilation Formation to evolve a model of a universe."
Liang Zhen was taken aback, not understanding and asking, "A model of a universe? What do you mean by that, Dao Brother Chen?"
This time, Chen Yun did not explain.
Yes, even though I seemed to have evolved the universe using the incredible power of the Ten Directions Annihilation Formation, I actually did not.
The power of the Ten Directions Annihilation Formation is somewhat "weak," not enough to evolve a real universe.
Alternatively, it would not be able to evolve even a real "solar system."
Chen Yun merely condensed the 930 billion light years of universe observable by human beings into a size comparable to that of the Earth.
Um, after fully mastering the Ten Directions Annihilation Formation, he probably knows the magnitude of this formation.
Perhaps just at the level of planets.
If we adhere to the premise that only immortals can break the array.
Chen Yun might deduce that immortals are at least of the explosive star level.
He could not possibly achieve explosive star level with his own power, and he should not be able to control the array.
In fact, if Chen Yun did not have the Essence of the Thunderstorm Great Immortal in his body, he would not be able to break the array even with the assistance of Nanying Leihuo Qizi and Wuxing Shenjian. The most he could achieve is to occupy a small portion of land in the endless gray flows as he did at first, and then endure the array's power. In the end, he would be swallowed by its overwhelming force.
The Essence of the Thunderstorm Great Immortal is different; if it can be fully refined, it is enough to help a person attain enlightenment and become an immortal.
Therefore, the "quality" of this group of immortal essence is actually far beyond the explosive star level.
Moreover, he manifests his golden demon god body.
His power has actually reached an infinite proximity to the explosive star level.
With a little help from the Essence of Immortals, he was able to break through the array.
Of course, breaking through the array would inevitably consume some Essence of the Thunderstorm Great Immortal.
Chen Yun estimated that he had wasted about one-tenth of the Essence of the Thunderstorm Great Immortal.
This would definitely have some impact on his future cultivation and attainment of enlightenment and immortality.
It looks like he has lost.
In fact, Chen Yun was well aware in his heart that he had gained a lot this time.
Because he gained a lot this time.
Because he used the Ten Directions Annihilation Formation to evolve a model of the universe once, from which he learned a lot.
This kind of insight not only helps in mastering power and improving one's mindset.
More importantly, it has provided a deeper understanding of the cultivation of internal elixir refinement.
Chen Yun can be quite confident in saying that after a period of deep cultivation, his skills will advance by leaps and bounds, and his combat power will increase significantly.
