"Sittville, have you found them?"
Washington, S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Triad Tower.
Alexander Peel, former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the current Minister of World Security Council, looked at the screen in front of him and asked the bald agent inside, "What do you have for us?"
Back then, he saw in Nick Fury's ability to take S.H.I.E.L.D. to new heights while also allowing the Hydra within the agency to thrive.
That's why he passed the director's position on to Nick Fury.
And it turned out his decision was indeed wise.
The original S.H.I.E.L.D. was just an organization under the U.S. government, with a rank similar to the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Under Nick Fury's operation, however, it became the world's largest security organization, with most countries giving it a green light. It had essentially monitored the entire world, except for a few countries.
If S.H.I.E.L.D. has monitored the entire world, then it is equivalent to Hydra monitoring the entire world.
S.H.I.E.L.D. gains technology, intelligence, and resources that Hydra can share, but S.H.I.E.L.D. does not have access to Hydra's technology, intelligence, and resources.
Therefore, the strength of Hydra has always been above that of S.H.I.E.L.D.
If he continued to develop it, he could gradually turn the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. into Hydra and perfectly implement the Insight plan with Nick Fury's induction.
By then, the entire world would be ruled by Hydra without anyone being aware of it.
Unfortunately, some complications have arisen recently. He discovered that Nick Fury had begun to suspect him and was even investigating the entire S.H.I.E.L.D., forcing him to prematurely initiate the plan.
Fortunately, many high-ranking officials in government were Hydra agents, making it impossible for Nick Fury to expose his crimes through legitimate means and forcing them into a covert struggle.
It can only be said that he is truly worthy of being the strongest agent who has brought S.H.I.E.L.D. to its current state. Even when not having an advantage in any aspect, he still managed to keep them at bay.
Unfortunately, he had more hands in play, especially the spies he had planted.
Finally, today he completely took care of Nick Fury, S.H.I.E.L.D. had only a few left, not enough to be afraid of.
However, there is one thing that he is rather wary of, and that is Nick Fury's suspicion of his intelligence sources.
The famous Professor X and X-Men have saved the world multiple times. Such an enemy is a huge threat to Hydra, and they must not be left alive.
That's why he didn't wipe out all the enemies. He lured Colson and the other small fry to lead them to the location of the school and planned to catch them all at once.
"No, we've combed through the entire area, but found no trace at all."
"Apparently, the mutants really do have something special."
Peel sneered coldly:
"Let's launch a blanket attack and bomb the entire area. I don't believe they won't show themselves."
The three sky cruisers are already in the final stage of debugging and will be ready to launch soon. They don't need to hide anymore. Let's just bomb this area and start the opening ceremony of Hydra's world domination.
And according to intelligence, given X Professor's personality, even if his mutants have some supernatural abilities to protect themselves and resist attacks, for the safety of ordinary people around them, they will not continue to remain silent.
These kinds of enemies are the easiest to manipulate.
He always believes that the current leader of the mutants is Professor X, while George in the intelligence reports is just a decoy.
"And what about Garrett and the others?"
Sittville hesitated. If there's a blanket attack like that, Garrett and Grant wouldn't survive.
Peel furrowed his brow.
"They will feel very honored to give their lives for the great Hydra. We will also remember their contributions."
"Hydra, hooray!"
Sittville immediately understood Peel's meaning and quickly shouted a slogan.
"Sittville, something is wrong with the weather outside!"
Just then, a figure of unusual strength suddenly appeared on the screen.
Upon seeing Peel, he immediately gave a salute of the Hydra military.
"Crossbones, what does it mean when you say the weather is wrong?"
Sittville showed a look of confusion on his face. The weather had no significant impact on them; they had come with well-trained elite forces who could normally complete their tasks even in heavy rain or snow.
Crossbones directly pressed a button next to him, causing the top of the specially designed vehicle that served as the command center to slowly open up, revealing the dark sky filled with swirling clouds and lightning jumping between them.
"This doesn't look like normal weather; normal weather wouldn't have this much lightning."
In a normal thunderstorm, you first see a flash of lightning in the sky, followed by thunder a moment later, and then comes downpours of rain.
While normally, you would first hear thunder, followed by lightning and heavy rain, there is no thunder now and no pouring rain. Instead, you see a dense array of lightning strikes gathering and flashing in the clouds, which feels extremely terrifying.
"Could it be that the mutants are up to something?"
Sittville had reviewed the files on the mutants and knew that there was once a member of the X-Men who could control weather, storms, and lightning. She was called Storm.
However, the files didn't say she could control so many lightning bolts. Could she be an upgraded version of Storm?
"Attack! Attack!"
Realizing this, Sittville, whose heart had tightened, did not hesitate and quickly issued the attack order to everyone.
So, the armed helicopters began to adjust their energy cannons towards the ground, and the tanks also turned their barrels.
The command was to bomb the area inch by inch, from head to toe, several times over.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The earth-shattering thunder sounded, not from the armed helicopters and tanks, but from the thunder and lightning from above that struck first.
Under George's control, the lightning strikes were all concentrated on the most prominent targets: the armed helicopters and tanks. The command vehicle, larger than a tank where Sittville and Crossbones were located, could not escape either.
"It feels like the end of the world!"
Coulson and the others watched as George, waving his magic wand, caused a cascade of lightning to fall like rain, striking the planes and tanks repeatedly. Their faces were all filled with shock.
The sensation was like watching deities punish the mortals with thunder.
If placed on the battlefield, which country's army could withstand such a terrifying attack?
"George, you look more like Thor than me."
Thor looked at the sky filled with thunder and lightning and couldn't help but express his admiration.
Last time in Asgard, George had released a lot less lightning than this time.
The lightning this time, he felt, was even more powerful than he could muster with Mjolnir in full strength.
"I think you shouldn't be called Thor, but rather an axe god."
Logan slapped Thor jokingly.
Both are alcoholics and often drink and boast together, so they have a very good relationship.
