Fifteen minutes later, led by Harry and his three friends, all the teachers in the school, including Lohart who wasn't very capable, had gathered in the lavatory on the third floor where Dionysus was crying.
"This is really the entrance of the serpent monster!"
Staring at the thick water pipe leading downwards, Snape approached and picked up a snake scale about the size of a palm from the pipe entrance, revealing a serious expression on his face.
Professor McGonagall drew her wand, saying firmly:
"Since we have confirmed that this is the entrance of the serpent monster, we will all go down and deal with the monster together to stop it from continuing to harm the students."
"I think we can't all go down, someone still needs to stay here. It's better if I."
Lohart looked at the deep pipe that seemed to have no bottom, his voice was somewhat stammering.
However, he was coldly interrupted by Snape.
"That's not acceptable, Lohart, this is your chance to shine now. You go first and walk ahead."
"Yes, we can just watch you deal with the Serpent alone, and then you can write a new book about it, how wonderful."
Hufflepuff's kind-hearted headmaster Professor Sprout also revealed a sarcastic smile at this moment.
"Me, me..."
A cold sweat suddenly broke out on Lohart's face.
The headmaster of Ravenclaw, Professor Flitwick, also quickly added:
"Lohart, you didn't just tell me yesterday that if you encountered a serpent monster alone, you could kill it with just one spell."
"I said that? I don't remember."
Lohart tried to play dumb, but Snape wasn't going to let him off the hook.
"I remember you saying that everything was a mess because of us and it should have been your job to handle it from the beginning. Now is your time to shine."
"Then, Lohart, it's up to you to handle this. You go down alone to deal with the serpent monster, and we'll wait here for your good news."
Professor McGonagall finally spoke up.
Lohart, swallowing hard, replied: "It's just that this thing has happened twice in a row. If we can't solve it this time, who knows what will happen next."
"Well, alright then, I'll go to the office to prepare some things."
Going down to fight the serpent monster is impossible for him. He plans to go back and take his things, and then run away directly first. He will come up with an excuse later to get away with it.
Unfortunately, his little trick was seen through by Snape. As soon as he tried to turn around and leave, Snape pushed him violently into the pipe.
"You're so powerful, what do you need to prepare for? Just go down directly."
"AHHH!!!"
Hearing Lohart's terrified shriek as he slid down the pipe, all the professors' faces lit up with a sense of relief.
"George, since you know the patronus charm, go find Hagrid and bring back several large roosters."
"Harry, you come with me first."
As Lohart's safe landing echoed from the depths of the pipe, Snape turned to George and gave him a brief instruction before vanishing in a black shadow with Harry towards the bottom of the pipe.
According to Ginny, there's a door that Harry needs to open using the Serpent language.
As the monster in the Chamber of Secrets has already been confirmed to be a serpent monster, Professor McGonagall had already ordered Hagrid to buy several large roosters and place them in various rooms of Hogwarts castle.
Now that Hagrid has bought a lot of roosters, it's just right for George to go and get them to deal with the serpent monster.
The serpent monster's only weakness is the crowing of a rooster, so with the help of the roosters, killing the serpent monster becomes not as difficult.
"You three go back to the Common Room first, and everything will be discussed when we come back from killing the serpent monster."
Professor McGonagall said to Ginny, Hermione, and Ron before jumping into the pipe with all the other professors.
George nodded to the three of them, spread his wings, and flew directly from the third floor to the Great Hall. Then, amidst the screams of young wizards being gathered by prefects and preparing to return to the Common Room, he quickly flew out of the castle.
"Hagrid, have you found the serpent monster? Where are the roosters? The professors need them!"
George flew to the door of Hagrid's cottage and landed, asking Hagrid who was busy making chicken food.
Hagrid immediately stood up and ran into the cottage, nearly kicking his large dog Fang, who was lying beside him.
"They're all in this box."
A few moments later, Hagrid brought out a box containing over a hundred large roosters.
The box in Hagrid's hand was enchanted with the Disapparating Stretching spell, which could easily accommodate not just a hundred, but a thousand roosters.
However, this is not Hagrid's own modification. It's from the Ministry of Magic.
Although the Ministry of Magic suspended Dumbledore due to Malfoy's actions, they were not indifferent to the safety of the students. After learning that the monster in the Chamber was a serpent, they specifically approved this box for carrying roosters.
"So many, the serpent monster must be very happy now."
Seeing the number of roosters in the box, George's heart was instantly filled with sorrow for the serpent monster.
Even a thousand-year-old serpent monster would likely be scared to death by this, which might be better than dying by Harry's sword in the original story.
George picked up the box, spread his wings, and flew quickly back to the third floor of the castle.
However, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny were none of them listening to the instructions to return to the Common Room. They all stood at the entrance of the pipe, eagerly waiting.
It can only be said that it's no wonder they are all from Gryffindor.
"I'll go down, don't worry. It should be over quickly."
With the box containing over a hundred large roosters in his arms, George nodded to the three small ones and jumped into the pipe as well, sliding all the way down to the bottom of it.
At the bottom of the pipe was a tunnel. Walking along the tunnel for a while, after passing by a massive snake skin shed by the serpent monster, he finally saw Professor Snape and the others again.
"These are the roosters prepared by Hagrid."
George handed the box to Snape, who glanced at it before addressing Harry:
"Potter, begin."
"George, when Harry opens the door, you take him backstage as far as possible. Don't look back here."
Professor McGonagall cautioned George.
Harry whispered something to the side in response.
"I'm one year older than George and in the same grade as him."
"But you're not as good as him. Start now, you idiot. This isn't the time for you to be jealous."
Snape beside Harry issued the command without mercy.
"I am not jealous!"
Harry huffed in protest, but nonetheless turned to the stone carvings of two coiled snakes on the wall and spoke in Serpent language:
"Open!"
The green gemstone on the eyes of the stone snakes glowed with a green magical light, and the wall immediately split open, revealing a room that was very dimly lit.
The room was surprisingly spacious, with a height of at least three floors, and it was filled with large columns covered in snake carvings.
At the end of the columns stood a massive stone carving of a wizard, representing one of the four founders of Hogwarts School, Slytherin.
"George, take him back!"
The moment the wall split open, Snape pulled Harry behind him and then spoke to George.
