"I never expected that you could create such a difficult spell on your own in first grade, that's really impressive!"
Dumbledore, who had always harbored a suspicion of George, couldn't help but feel admiration for him now.
He thought that if George did not go astray in the future, he might truly become one of the top-tier wizards in magical proficiency.
"The students of Slytherin are always outstanding!"
Snape, who had been silent all along, showed a slight smile on his face. He felt that George was very much like him. As his door disciple, not only did he master the invisible spell quickly, but also he created his own spell.
"However, George, creating new spells is a very dangerous thing. You must be more cautious next time, and if there's anything you don't understand, you must come and ask me first."
Many wizards in the wizarding world have died because of the creation of new spells, including Luna's mother, who was accidentally killed.
So Snape, though he was proud of George for creating a new spell in the first grade, gave a serious warning.
"Thank you, Headmaster. I'll come to consult with you."
George naturally agreed with Snape's words.
If Snape was willing to dedicate more time to teaching him, George could certainly improve his magical skills more quickly and learn more advanced spells from higher years.
Invisible Invisibility Potion, Apparition, Animagus, Patronus Charm, all sorts of magical alchemy and dark magic, and so much more. There was still a lot for him to learn.
"Since the matter is clear, Severus and Millicent, you two escort them back to the common room. I'll go and discuss the arrangements for the rest of the day with the school board."
After all the questions were answered, Dumbledore waved his hand, and Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall left the headmaster's office with George and Hermione.
"Hermione, this was an accident. With your intelligence and wit, I'm sure you'll create your own spells in the future."
After leaving the headmaster's office, George noticed that Hermione looked a bit off. He assumed it was because of her strong sense of pride, and so he kindly comforted her.
Hermione was a top student but too reliant on book knowledge, which made her somewhat inferior to wizards like Snape in terms of creativity.
But that's still far superior to the innate magical talent of this body he's using; he's mainly just been cheating.
"Aha, what? Oh, yes, yes, I will try my best."
A flush of red appeared on Hermione's face for a moment, and then her expression became slightly flustered as she nodded.
She wasn't thinking about the things George just said.
The expressions and conversation between George and Hermione were all noticed by Snape and McGonagall, who were accompanying them, and they both had surprised looks on their faces.
Following that, McGonagall's originally serious expression now had a bit of an aunt-like smile added to it.
She didn't expect that her most outstanding Gryffindor miss would have a special fondness for the Slytherin wizard.
However, as the head of Gryffindor, she didn't have any internal opposition to it.
After all, George, the little Slytherin, was also a student she really liked. And just now, George had saved Hermione from the basilisk's mouth.
This is the kind of plot that would appear in those romantic storybooks she read when she was young.
As long as it doesn't affect their grades, she doesn't mind the little wizards dating, which is very open-minded at Hogwarts.
Otherwise, they wouldn't have passed the Valentine's Day event proposed by Lohar.
In a normal Muggle school, if a teacher dared to lead students in dating, writing love letters, or even using potions, they would be fired the next day and possibly even sent to the police station.
Snape's expression was much more complex.
Initially, he frowned, and then as if something occurred to him, his expression became somewhat blank as he fell into a state of reminiscence.
Finally, his face revealed a smile, a happiness he had never shown before.
"George, I'll go back first."
Hermione, her voice slightly flustered, greeted George and then quickly followed Professor McGonagall towards the entrance of Gryffindor on the eighth floor.
"Alright, give my regards to Harry and Ron."
George smiled and nodded, continuing on towards the staircase.
Gryffindor's dormitory was also on the eighth floor, just a few turns away, while Slytherin's dormitory was in the castle's basement, requiring descending the stairs to the main hall and then entering the basement.
"Is it that she's scared?"
For George, he didn't dwell much on Hermione's unusual behavior, as he was now fully focused on the dark magic books in the restricted section of the library.
As George, who was usually quiet and reserved, returned with Snape to the Slytherin common room, he was about to use the password to enter when Snape suddenly said something that left George feeling bewildered.
"George, don't always immerse yourself in magic. You should spend more time with her in your spare time, especially since you're in different houses. It's always more convenient for those in the same house."
"If you accidentally say something hurtful, you must also explain it..."
He didn't wait for George's response before turning and leaving.
It left George feeling quite bewildered.
"Is it about Hermione?"
It was "her" again, and mentioning the colleges as separate, which made it hard for him not to think of Hermione just before they separated.
"Could it be... Does he think George and Hermione are dating?"
Blinked his eyes, he guessed what was going on.
He thought Snape might have seen the reflection of himself and the deceased Lily in his relationship with Hermione.
Speaking of which, there is indeed a striking resemblance.
Snape was an excellent Slytherin, and so were George and Lily at that time. Hermione is also one of the top students in Gryffindor.
Snape was a half-blood wizard, and so was George. Lily was a witch born to Muggles, and Hermione is also.
Lily had a Potter in her year, and Hermione had one too; they were on good terms with both.
It's not surprising that Snape said those things, as he doesn't want him to repeat the same mistake as Lily.
But the misunderstanding is too big, he likes Hermione, how could a thirteen-year-old kid possibly be interested in her.
Whether it's Harry, Ron, Colin, or Hermione, Ginny, and Luna, he treats them all equally as children without any other thoughts.
Shake his head, misunderstandings are just misunderstandings. After all, these things can't be explained, and they won't affect his plan.
"Noble!"
Reciting the password for the week, George pushed open the door and entered Slytherin's common room.
As soon as he entered the common room, he was surrounded by the little wizards, all asking him what had happened.
Since neither Dumbledore nor Snape said to keep it secret, he repeated what he had said in the headmaster's office.
Hearing that the monster in the Chamber of Secrets was the terrifying basilisk, many of the little wizards jumped in surprise.
However, there were also extreme ones like young Malfoy, who believed that the basilisk would not attack Slytherin but only attack Muggle-born wizards.
Hearing that George had actually created a flying spell, everyone was utterly startled, especially when George demonstrated it for everyone in the common room.
