She squinted at the sky-gazing mirror for a moment, said seriously, "Hmm, it seems not to be this one."
Deng Chanyu didn't say anything, and I could also tell that it wasn't!
Starting from the time when the great ancestor put his hand to the sky to fix it after Gong Gong knocked down the unbalanced mountain, how many cycles have passed? It was still the battle between shaman and devils then. Nowadays, great Shang is on the brink of extinction.
Over such a long period of time, with resentment and hatred in their hearts, how can the true essence of the divine turtle be as small as a palm?
The image in the sky-gazing mirror changed once again. Previously, the dragon girl had been holding the little tail of the "turtle," but finding it rather uninteresting, she casually threw it onto the ground. Zhuwu found it amusing and was playing with a branch, poking at the "turtle."
The "turtle" was intimidated by the auras of several surrounding "large monsters," shrinking its head timidly, completely unable to resist, and moving a little with every poke.
This thing is too weak! I estimate that even the Tang Sanzang from Journey to the West could sit on it and kill it with one move.
Nüwa counted on her fingers and made calculations; the abilities of the saints are profound and inscrutable, and she quickly deduced a clue.
"I have already calculated that the true essence of the divine turtle is indeed in the river, but in a small thousand world within it. Going in without caution is not appropriate. Instead, go to the East Sea and find an object."
Deng Chanyu hurriedly left the Taisu Heavens, and Nuwa immediately put away her solemn and reverent demeanor. The home is where you relax! The Qingluan Phoenix and two attendants, along with a flock of tiny jin wu essence like little ducks, instantly rushed in to watch the live broadcast!
Entrusting the matter of the divine turtle to Deng Chanyu is partly because she, the elder, has been staying at home, too lazy to go out.
To be honest, besides Zhun Ti, saints are all unwilling to go out. Yu Shi Tian Zun just stays in the Jade True Palace every day. If the 12 Golden Immortals of Hsuan Jiao had not fallen into the Yellow River Array and been deprived of three flowers and five qi, he wouldn't even bother to move.
Nuwa's hermit-like nature surpasses that of the other sages.
She has cut all her inclination to socialize and to run around to the side of Laishan Old Mother. As her true nature, she is unwilling to move.
On the other hand, saints do not become involved in causes and effects, so the karma of the divine turtle will ultimately fall on Deng Chanyu's shoulders.
To be a disciple of a saint and to use the saint's spiritual treasure for protection, one also inherits the saint's karma.
Deng Chanyu must take on the karma of the divine turtle.
The same applies to the disciples of other saints.
Over there in the Western Buddhism, Jie Yu and Zhun Ti have brought a bunch of demons into the teachings of Shakyamuni. They took the merit for themselves and then the two sages cashed out and ran away. The world only knows about Shakyamuni and Guanyin, not Jie Yu and Zhun Ti. The Daoist disciples who came in were sent to be undercover in the Buddhist teachings, rising to the highest level, and then started fighting against all kinds of demons.
It's hard to say who is plotting against whom. After all, neither the Daoist gate nor the Western Two Sages have gained anything from this.
Therefore, saints are indeed pits. While enjoying the benefits, there are pits waiting for you elsewhere.
The East Sea is vast and boundless, with numerous islands of various sizes on the sea surface. Deng Chanyu arrived at a vast island with a circumference of ten thousand miles, observed for a moment, and then descended from the clouds.
This is the Longbu Kingdom, at least it was.
The Longbu Kingdom is the realm of giants, a term described from the perspective of human race. In reality, Longbu Kingdom has no concept of "people". They are the descendants of dragon gods, looking somewhat like humans, so they were called giants by human race.
They have heads and limbs, stand upright, but are extremely large in stature. A normal giant from Longbu Kingdom is over a hundred zhang (a traditional Chinese unit of length, approximately 3.33 meters) tall.
This is not imitating the heavens and the earth, but is completely innate.
Being so tall and strong, they naturally eat a lot.
By the era of Fu Xi and Shennong, there were more and more immortals living in the East Sea, among whom some immortals were very dissatisfied with the Longbu giants and went to the Heavenly Court to complain.
Heavenly Lord believed that these guys eat and occupy a lot, but don't make any significant contributions to the Primordial Chaos.
I can't beat saints, but can I beat giants?
On the surface, it was an imperial edict, but secretly, it was achieved through great magical power, shrinking the stature of the Longbu giants.
Even if shrunken, the current Longbu giants are still over thirty zhang (a traditional Chinese unit of length, approximately 10 meters) tall.
Deng Chanyu had come to Longbu Kingdom to find an ancient fishing rod that was used by the Longbu giants to catch the divine turtle.
"Is there anyone here? Teacher? Teacher, are you here?"
The Nuwa in the Wu Gong Palace sat still, closed her lips tightly, and remained silent.
The Qingluan and the others were stifling laughter.
Deng Chanyu asked again and found that her "personal" teacher was probably not here.
There's no choice but to search by herself.
The architecture in Longbu Kingdom is not hard to find; it's just one word: large! If I had to add another adjective, it would be crude.
Tall trees are chopped down carelessly, and then bundled with ropes and covered with two layers of big leaves as the roof. One house is thus built.
Deng Chanyu looked around an area that neither seemed to be a village nor a gathering place.
According to her observations, there should have been giants from Longbu Kingdom living here, perhaps three or four in number. However, it seemed that there had been no traces of intelligent life for many years.
"There's mist coming in?" As a layer of clouds floated over the sea, she looked up and found that the sky above a hundred zhang up was no longer visible.
Suddenly, the rudimentary houses, decayed stone spears, and the animal skin skirts hanging next to the big trees disappeared. The mist grew thicker and thicker, with visibility becoming very low. The sound of "dongdong" heavy footsteps accompanied by a figure walking from the other end of the island.
Knowing that the real master had arrived, Deng Chanyu did not panic and waited quietly.
It took about ten breaths for the figure to come to her front.
This is a pair of sturdy and powerful legs!
The upper body above the legs was hidden in the mist, and could not be seen clearly.
From Deng Chanyu's perspective, even the normally 30-meter-tall Hun Yu hasn't reached this giant's kneecap. The giant is barefoot, with rough skin and dense leg hair like a bunch of javelins.
"Save me, my tribe, save people."
The deep voice came from the thick clouds.
Deng Chanyu did not fly up to take a look.
According to her observations, the being she was now encountering was not a true Longbu giant but an ancestral phantasm re-coalesced through the lineage of descendants. This thing was just a hollow shell, easily broken with a single poke.
Deng Chanyu said, "According to the legend, the Longbu giants who caught two divine turtles in the East Sea were you. Can you lend me your fishing rod to use?"
"Save people, my tribe, save insects, descendants."
The Longbu giant's words were incoherent. Deng Chanyu had to ask again, "What kind of insect has trapped your clan's descendants? Now you want me to save them, and then you'll give me the fishing rod?"
It took a long time for the Longbu giant with his body hidden for most of the time to open his mouth and say, "Good."
"Alright, then, where are your descendants?"
The giant's two large feet turned seventy degrees in place, facing southwest. Deng Chanyu also looked in that direction. The giant stamped his foot with force, seemingly indicating that the matter was urgent, and then he disappeared along with the white mist.
