Aaron chattered, imagining himself to be the sky palace guard of Marum's rank, the Goddess Astarte.
He even had a moment to pick up the scattered bronze sword from the ground, as if its blade was also beginning to hum.
The dark followers turned, the leader revealing an evil laugh, chanting in a language familiar to Aaron:
"Lykosthalassa! Leksmi! My children, consume this proud human!"
A large wolf, its entire body burning with ghostly flames, walked out of the pack without a trace of heat, as if it was burning underwater.
With every step it took, the footprint left on the stone brick showed the growth of coral, with faint purple spiritual light hidden.
Leksmi twisted its neck, the flames of its mane flapping on either side, as it stuck out its tongue from the foul great mouth, which divided into dozens of segments, with each tongue tip growing a variety of sharp protrusions.
That's interesting, dogs can provide emotional value by licking their owners' bodies.
Then, is there any owner who would need these strange and terrifying tongues, whose structure clearly grew for deeper penetration into certain body tissues?
Hiss~
That would have to be very painful.
Aaron couldn't help but tighten his waist and hips, accelerating his charge.
The monster was right in front of him, the revolting smell from its massive mouth absolutely loathsome.
He would rather believe it was a squid inside a wolf's throat, than accept the idea that this creature looked like that.
Hades, Poseidon, did your pets get drunk at the royal feast of the heavens?
He remembered his mother used to tell him bedtime stories, saying Cerberus was actually very well-behaved, and he had even tugged the little dog's tail himself.
So Aaron felt no fear as he faced the mythical creature for the first time, this terrifying giant, and even imagined a scene of Cerberus and Cernunnos entangled in the molten rock of the seafloor.
He twisted his wrist, learning the actions of swinging a longsword from the plays of Hercules, which were staged in Thebes for several years.
He struck at Leksmi's head, slicing open a wound that was promptly moved aside, then jumping back a few steps.
Unfortunately, there was no shield in the other hand, so he couldn't use the sword to hit the shield as he did in the plays where he shouted war cries to taunt his opponents.
At this point, the girls in the audience would usually scream.
Because striking the shield would make the character's muscles appear more bulky, they would often apply olive oil beforehand, so that these parts could shine in the firelight during the performance.
Aaron could only make airy gestures, imagining that he had a shield, bending over in a menacing posture, and shouting: "You dared to cross me?! As for the three brothers of your kin, their souls have already been consumed by Hades!"
"Hah, you brutes, get off my brother!"
"Motherfuckers, what are these dogs doing!"
Several of the Leksmi had already grappled with Lora, their strange tongues lashing at her helplessly, like a penance inflicted upon a heretic.
The wolves roared in dissatisfaction, many of them wanting to leave Lora and attack this newly arrived creature that the dogs found repulsive.
As soon as they saw Aaron, they all felt a tightening of their tails.
The dark follower felt the thoughts of these demonic creations and signaled to stop torturing Lora with a gesture. He took a step forward:
"Your thoughts, your soul, are so delicious — I can feel it! Even my master trembles for your imagination."
"Great Joyful Lord, please grant to our servant Androl, the conqueror of all —"
Androl's words were interrupted as from the other side of the wall, several axes were being thrown over as climbing tools. Several figures, also dark followers but more robust in physique, their bodies beneath the robes clad in iron armor and decorated with skulls, jumped up onto the wall!
The leader, "Hound" Kulkara, shouted aloud:
"Androl, you cursed dog! This is the enemy we chose, who should be defeated on the battlefield and offer perfect combat to the skull-worshiping master!"
"You pansies, homosexuals, you'd take it from those dogs up the ass and be satisfied with that, but you dare to use these filth to defile the chosen opponents of our master?"
"You bastards!"
The burly man didn't even put on a hooded cloak, showing the raised markings on his face made with his own blood, and threw the axe directly at Androl.
Boom!
The dark follower who raised the great wolves, it seemed, did not possess enough physical strength to survive the blow of the axe, which killed him instantly.
No, no, even in mythological stories, the main antagonist should have fought for a few rounds before dying!
With the opportunity of the pack leader being dead, Lora finally managed to break free from the battle.
Once freed, that massive, perfect body unleashed an unstoppable rage and power.
Each arm grabbed one Leksmi, crushing them alive.
Then, he picked up his sledgehammer from the ground. Fortunately, the enemies hadn't tried to stuff their weapons into their asses.
Otherwise, Lora would have been even more enraged!
He swung the sledgehammer, smashing several of the surrounding enemies into pulp.
Then, taking advantage of the distraction caused by the followers of Skull Worship and Pleasure Worship fighting in all directions, he rushed forward, one hand gripping Aaron's body and leaping down to the wall outside.
As he fell, Aaron saw some dark followers, predominantly green and blue in color, climbing the walls.
It seems like they're all here to join the fun.
He couldn't help but laugh:
"My dear brother, Lora, these are the dark followers you spoke of? They don't seem to be a unified front."
After being jolted a few times, Lora rolled around once and landed, with the curvature of his back just avoiding Aaron's head from hitting the ground.
Lora then stood up and ran at a brisk pace:
"Shut up! Everything you've seen today is just a part of my plan. I did this to guide all the dark followers to one place, so I could catch them all in one sweep!"
Aaron looked at the marks left by the Leksmi's tongues on Lora's skin, indicating agreement. He sighed:
"Everyone has something dark in their past. It's normal. By the way, why didn't you directly attack me this time? Take advantage of this moment to crush my waist or bite off my head. I have no doubt about your biting power."
Lora's tone had gradually calmed down, and he seemed to never tire. He ran faster than the finest horses in the kingdom of Macedonia. He said,
"I still have doubts, but you're not a dark follower, because they don't have the atmosphere you possess."
Aaron became curious and excitedly asked, "What atmosphere? Is it the heroism that caused you to rush in to save me just now?"
Lora snorted coldly:
"Compared to your rescue, the role of Kula Kar played a much greater one. I can't explain this atmosphere, it's just that the guidance of the true god is shining on me. No matter who you are, I have to destroy all the dark followers in this world first. Then, my sun will rise. This is my destiny that has been written in the stars."
Aaron struggled to adjust his position in Lora's embrace and sighed, "We'll be running a long way, my friend."
"Like the heroes of Heracles, they have to complete their missions to achieve fame and success, but they will still die, sometimes even horribly. By the way, my dear brother, why did those dark followers fight each other? If they have factions, they should unite and work together to attack you."
This was the first time Aaron saw a smile on Lora's face. His brother's smile was truly adorable:
"Cooperation? Can dark followers cooperate? Hahaha——Now I'm more certain that you're not a dark follower. You're just a pagan."
