After cutting the segment, Li Nian handed the phone to Meng Yi and said, "When you present it to the king, just point your finger at the middle '▷' with your finger, and it will play. Try it. Once the playback is finished, if you want to play it again, tap '▷' one more time, and it will replay."
Li Nian said again, "Please trouble the general to present it to the king!"
Meng Yi, holding the phone and charging battery, walked towards Ying Zheng again, following a similar process as before, but this time the content being played was different.
As Meng Yi's finger touched the "▷" in the center of the screen, the image began to flow, and a city appeared before Ying Zheng's eyes.
The sky was gloomy, and the entire city seemed shrouded in a misty veil. The oppressive, dim-lit atmosphere gave one a sense of foreboding, suggesting that something bad was about to happen.
Buildings of all shapes and sizes stood within the city, each distinct in its design and appearance. Yet, compared to the buildings seen from the future, they were strikingly similar in nature, indicating that this was indeed a city from the future.
A creature that was unclear whether it was an insect, a bird, or an animal flew through the air, making a "thump, thump, thump" sound. On the streets, there were strange people walking in a sway that was unlike that of ordinary humans.
Suddenly, a bright light flashed across the gloomy sky!
'Was it that kind of flower blooming again in the night sky?'
Ying Zheng thought the bright light flying by was fireworks, but the next moment, he saw it fly to above a building in the city, where it exploded into a brilliant glow. The surface of the strange object instantly turned completely white and began to shake.
No, it's not the strange object that's shaking, but the city that appears on the strange object called "phone" that's shaking.
A pale sun appeared in the sky of that city, and terrifying waves emanated from it. The buildings beneath it bore the brunt of the onslaught, sending countless shards blasting outward in a frenzied splattering.
At this moment, the scene shifted, changing to a high-angle view of the entire city. Ying Zheng saw a white sun in the center of the city expanding continuously, spreading outwards and destroying everything within the city without cease.
As the sunlight spread, towering buildings began to crumble, billowing smoke and creating a desolate, apocalyptic appearance.
The scene then jumped back to the inside of the creature, which even while flying in the air was affected by the white sun, causing it to shake violently.
"Hang on to something!"
A man who was clearly not from the Seven States roared something that Ying Zheng couldn't understand, followed by the terrifying sun almost covering the entire city, being within reach of this creature that wasn't clearly an insect or a bird.
The playback ended here, but Ying Zheng knew the outcome of that city's fate without having to watch further. It would undoubtedly be destroyed by the sun.
Ying Zheng fell into a long silence; was this what this man referred to as a weapon from the future?
If this was true, it indeed had the capability to destroy Yanming City and kill tens of thousands in an instant.
If indeed there are such weapons in the future, even if there are a thousand Gao dynasties or a thousand times more, what difference does it make? They would merely be dust under the feet of such powerful weapons.
Ying Zheng began to understand what Li Nian meant by not being in the same generation. The gap was too great, far too vast to be bridged by numbers alone.
After a long time, Ying Zheng looked at Li Nian and asked, "Could it be that people from the future took the sun and made it into a weapon? Could people from the future possess such abilities?"
Ying Zheng said, "How is this weapon called? What is the relationship between it and the sun?"
Li Nian said, "This weapon is called a 'hydrogen bomb' or 'nuclear weapon,' which is the strongest weapon in our time and can destroy a city with one explosion. Your Majesty has an insightful eye; you can see at a glance that it is related to the sun. Its principle of explosion is similar to that of the sun, so you can consider it as a man-made sun."
Li Nian subtly praised Ying Zheng, but he wasn't paying attention to this. He asked again, "Could the Qin Dynasty produce such a thing?"
Li Nian didn't expect Ying Zheng to ask this question. Since the founder of Qin Dynasty was such an ambitious emperor, once he knew there was a powerful weapon, he would naturally wonder if they could also develop one for Qin Dynasty.
Ying Zheng looked at Li Nian with great expectation, but to his disappointment, Li Nian shook his head and said, "Your Majesty, I must tell you the truth. Even if we exhausted the power of the Qin Dynasty, it is impossible to create such a thing."
Ying Zheng was unwilling to give up and said again, "Would it be possible with your help?"
"Impossible!"
Li Nian firmly shook his head, "The production of such a thing requires not just one person. Furthermore, its creation involves many aspects, and the current Qin Dynasty lacks the conditions to accomplish it."
Ying Zheng felt somewhat disappointed upon hearing this, but he still refused to give up. "Now the Qin Dynasty is not capable of it. How long will it take?"
Li Nian thought for a moment and gave Ying Zheng an ambiguous answer: "If the Qin Dynasty develops properly and is lucky, it might take a hundred years, but if it doesn't develop well, it might not even be able to create it in a few hundred to a thousand years."
He had never actually made a hydrogen bomb, so how did he know how long it would take from the feudal era to develop nuclear weapons?
The Qin Dynasty does not even have a basic industrial system, so how can they talk about making nuclear weapons?
A hundred years with good luck? And if luck is bad, it might take hundreds or even thousands of years? That must mean he will definitely not see it in his lifetime?
Ying Zheng's mind flashed, and he thought of something. However, he did not plan to ask about it at the moment and decided to wait for another time to ask.
He then asked another question: "How many of these weapons does your future country have?"
Li Nian replied, "The actual number is a state secret, and I don't know either, but I suppose it could bomb all the important cities of other countries."
Ying Zheng asked again, "What kind of relationship does your future country have with my Qin Dynasty? Are they my descendants?"
Li Nian nodded and said, "Your Majesty has insightful vision. The country I come from was also established on Chinese soil. Without your Qin Dynasty, it is uncertain whether my country would exist. In my era, Qin was an important part of our culture!"
This was not flattery of Ying Zheng; rather, it was that without the Qin Emperor's conquest of the Six States and the unification of the world, China might have split apart in the style of the Warring States period. It was possible that Chinese territory might have ended up looking like Europe.
The Qin Emperor's unification of writing, transportation, moral standards, and measures truly benefited the Chinese civilization!
Upon hearing Li Nian's words, Ying Zheng nodded and looked at Li Nian again, feeling much more favorable towards him. He recalled the request that Li Nian made before he decided to reveal his origin, furrowed his brow, and asked, "What was your purpose behind making that request to the king earlier?"
"Finally, it's here!"
Li Nian sighed secretly and said, "Your Majesty, having known that I come from the future, you should understand that Qin Dynasty is history for me, just like Xia and Shang are for the people of Qin."
Ying Zheng quickly understood what Li Nian was referring to: "Your meaning is that there are some issues with these people in the history that you know, so you made that request?"
Li Nian said, "Your Majesty, it is clear to me that some of the actions of these people, as recorded in the history I know, would be harmful to the Qin Dynasty and harmful to Your Majesty."
Ying Zheng said, "Let me hear what you have to say. I want to see what they have done in history."
After speaking, Ying Zheng added, "Do not worry about offending the king with what you say. Speak freely and I will forgive you for your crime. I do have this amount of magnanimity!"
