At night, the howling wind outside continued to rage.
Chen Yun was aware that during the day, Hei Yue was exercising the Great Law to control the fierce winds, preventing the Jin troops in Liyang City from leaving and countering them.
Indeed, according to his understanding of military strategies, Liyang City was now suffering from a food shortage and had its water supply cut off. Added to this were the constant howling gales against the wind, making the fall of the city merely a matter of time.
The war between mortals has little to do with sacred beings like Chen Yun, Ni Zha, and Li Jing. Even if they wanted to help, they could only disrupt the weather by calling forth wind and rain.
Thus, Chen Yun was preparing to read some Taoist sutras and then engage in cultivation.
Suddenly, he felt a sudden urge in his heart while sitting in the tent, as if something significant was about to happen.
Chen Yun was startled and silently thought to himself, "Since I have successfully cultivated the fourth turn of 'The Internal Golden Dan Technique' by Master Chen, I can see the entire world while seated in my room and discern fortunes and misfortunes. Now that I feel a sudden urge in my heart, it must be that some calamity is about to occur."
He remained composed, extended his right hand, and pinch-calculated.
What surprised Chen Yun was that the previously always accurate divination was ineffective at this moment.
He was unable to foresee the situation for the next few days, feeling as if he was looking at a flower through a fog, as if some tremendous power was affecting him.
"Wrong!"
Chen Yun's face changed as he said, "It must be that the enemy has sent some very powerful sacred beings, blocking my ability to divine correctly."
He dared not slacken off at all and started using more profound divination methods to calculate what might happen in the future.
Chen Yun snapped his finger, and a golden essence burst from the tip of his finger. It instantly expanded and spread, transforming into an eight trigrams and yin-yang pattern, undulating three feet in front of him.
He used the great techniques from the "Taiping Qingling Book" for divination.
In an instant, the eight trigrams and yin-yang pattern was spinning continuously, with a bright red point standing out prominently among the golden light.
In the next moment, an irresistible divine force flooded in from nowhere, shaking the eight trigrams and yin-yang pattern until it shattered.
Chen Yun let out a gasp, nearly vomiting, as it turned out he had been injured internally by the shock of this tremendous force.
He quickly activated his Xuanjin cultivation to restore himself, his heart secretly shocked as he thought, "What incredible power this is! It must be that the Later Jin have summoned some very powerful sacred beings. And during my divination just now, I had a glimpse and discovered that the Chenadian army may have a blood-stained disaster tonight."
Chen Yun's eyebrows furrowed as he realized that a sacred being who could block the divine signs was far beyond his abilities to withstand.
He thought for a moment, then stretched out his hand to summon, and the Heavenly Sword immediately appeared in his grip.
Having completed all of this, Chen Yun called out to the outside: "Send someone."
In the next moment, Jiaodaoren, who had been waiting outside, quickly walked in and said, "Master, what are your orders?"
Chen Yun said, "According to the rumors, instruct your disciples to stay fully dressed tonight. Also, inform Li Tian King, the Third Prince, General Guan, Master Niubangda, Black Mom, and Qi Shouxiang among others to be on high alert. If there is any unrest, they should immediately leave this place and retreat towards Yuancheng."
Jiaodaoren nodded.
After speaking, he turned and hurriedly walked out of the camp, informing everyone.
As soon as the person left, Chen Yun sat there with his brows tightly knit, deep in thought, "Which sacred being possesses such great power?"
Trying to determine who the sacred being was from the profound influence on himself, Chen Yun continued to meditate.
Unfortunately, no matter how hard Chen Yun tried to recall, he could not deduce who the sacred being was.
Not only could he not deduce the identity of the sacred being, but he was also unable to gather even a single bit of information about them.
Chen Yun only felt a flash of gold light, and then his divination technique for the future was broken.
"This golden color is not like the everlasting gold nature of my inner alchemy, nor is it the Buddha's light as in Buddhism. Although it is somewhat similar, there are significant differences in essence."
Chen Yun truly couldn't think of who it could be.
After thinking for a long time, Chen Yun finally gave up and abandoned the attempt to continue speculating.
The method was too profound, and without a deliberate sign, he was certain he couldn't guess who it might be.
Chen Yun felt that if he wanted to know the other party's identity, it was simple: he just had to wait for them to reveal themselves.
While Chen Yun was thinking, Ni Zha, Li Jing, Guan Ping, and Jiushou Bull Demon King suddenly appeared together.
Chen Yun greeted them into the camp.
Just as the group had sat down, Jiushou Bull Demon King asked in a hurry, "Master Chen, what did you mean by the message you had sent just now?"
Ni Zha, Li Jing, and Guan Ping all looked at Chen Yun's face simultaneously.
Chen Yun thought for a moment and told them about the divination he had done earlier.
After hearing this, Li Jing was startled and said with some disbelief, "Tell us again about the situation where you were affected by that tremendous power."
Ni Zha and Guan Ping seemed to have sensed something was off, and their expressions on their faces had changed.
Seeing the seriousness on everyone's faces, Chen Yun realized that the situation was not simple. He explained in detail, "Just now, while I was divining the future, I suddenly felt a burst of golden light shining through. It seemed as if I also smelled some floral scent. I can't recall exactly what type of flower it is, but it's definitely not something from this world."
Li Jing and Ni Zha exchanged a glance, and both saw shock in each other's eyes.
Ni Zha asked, "Wasn't it an extremely faint floral scent that made you feel carefree and at ease?"
Chen Yun thought carefully and replied, "Yes, it was like that. The time was too short, and I couldn't feel it clearly."
Li Jing drew a sharp breath, "Could it really be that she has arrived?"
Chen Yun asked, "Who?"
Li Jing's gaze became solemn, "Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva!"
Upon hearing this, Chen Yun was greatly startled.
He had never expected that the profound force that affected his divination of the future could have been none other than the Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva.
When talking about the Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva, many may not be aware of her identity. However, when mentioning her other identity, it's likely that people will have a sudden realization.
The Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva originally appeared in Hinduism and was said to be an incarnation of the Goddess of Light, Varahi. She was the helper deity of Indra, the king of gods, and Surya, the Sun God. Later, she was worshipped as the Goddess of Dawn and included among the pantheon of gods.
Later, as Buddhism emerged, the Molye Po Tian was incorporated and became a Bodhisattva. She was even portrayed as an emanation of the Buddha.
The moon of the Puramaita Buddha radiated light, spreading illumination everywhere, eventually evolving into the Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva.
This is the Imperishable Heaven, evolving from the Ten Vajra Hearts into the Saintly Domain of Fortitude, and is known as the Non-dual Heaven.
The Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva originally served as a retinue of Indra and often accompanied the Sun God Surya in swift travel across the world, protecting all Buddhist disciples.
After Buddhism was introduced to our country, the Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva also gained considerable attention and had numerous titles, such as "Mother of Light," "Light-Mother," and "Mother of Accumulated Light."
Up to this point, the Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva was merely a bodhisattva within Buddhism.
However, during the Yuan Dynasty, in the "Dafa Huayan," Molye Po Tian was merged with Doumu Yuanjun, completely becoming a deity of Daoism from its earliest stage, known as Doumu Yuanjun.
The earliest recorded appearance of Doumu Yuanjun can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty.
The earliest recorded appearance of Doumu Yuanjun was in the Daoist scripture "Yu Qing Wu Shang Ling Bao Zi Rao Bei Sheng Zhen Jing" from the Northern Song Dynasty, where she was known as "Zi Guang Mrs."
According to the records, Mrs. Zi Guang gave birth to nine sons: her eldest son is the Emperor of the Highest Heaven of the Supreme Palace, Gouchen; her second son is the Northern Dipper andPurple Microcosmic Emperor in the Middle Heaven; and her seven younger sons are the Seven Stars of the Big Dipper.
Since ancient times, the Chinese have worshipped the Big Dipper. After the rise of Taoism, it absorbed the Big Dipper and created a deity. By the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Seven Stars of the Big Dipper were called together with Zhiwei and Gouchen as "the Nine Emperors."
From the Song Dynasty onwards, each of the Seven Stars of the Big Dipper was attributed independent divine attributes, and together with Zhiwei and Gouchen, they were worshipped as "the Nine Supreme Deities."
After the "Nine Emperors" became anthropomorphic gods, their birth stories became more concrete, and they were in a state of "having no father and no mother" ethically. This provided an opportunity for the birth of Doumu Yuanjun.
Zhongli Quan and Lv Dongbin are considered the founders of Daoist internal alchemy.
Zhong and Lv emphasized the mutual harmony between yin and yang, so when practicing internal observation, there must be a goddess who can embody yin, and this original embodiment of yin goddess is called "Nine Kings True Mother," which is one of the names for Doumu Yuanjun.
That's right, the emergence of Doumu Yuanjun is indeed closely related to Zhong and Lu.
In fact, Doumu Yuanjun was originally unrelated to Molye Po Tian.
However, during the Tang and Song Dynasties, the influence and integration of Buddhist and Daoist beliefs led to the fusion of Daoist doumila faith with Buddhist Molye Po Tian faith, gradually forming the later doumila image.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning that in the "Yu Qing Wu Shang Ling Bao Zi Rao Bei Ben Sheng Zhen Jing," Doumu Yuanjun is regarded as the yin qi embodiment of the Primordial Venerable, and she evolves from Taiyi Yuanjun to assist the Jade Emperor in managing the group of stars and deities.
Doumu Yuanjun has various incarnations, much like Laojun teaching the Dharma according to the needs of the situation.
Doumu Yuanjun, as the original divine consciousness, and Mrs. Zi Guang are merely metaphorical incarnations.
In Taoism, there are also cases where the Chentian Bodhisattva and Zhong Tang Dazhong Yuanjun are combined, and their hand prints are the same.
Chen Yun knew that if the person who arrived this time was indeed Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva, then it would be a big trouble.
Why?
Because Mo Lie Zhu Tian Bodhisattva, after becoming a Taoist deity, and even the Supreme Yuanjun Doumu, holds immense power as an ultimate original divine consciousness. She is not just a powerful deity but also the creator of the universe.
As expected, Ni Zha, with a hint of fear, said, "Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva is a bodhisattva, but her power is said to be on par with the Buddha and Laozi. She is a semi-step deity in the realm of Tiantuo. If she were to come here, we would definitely be unable to stop her."
Chen Yun naturally knew that Ni Zha referred to the Buddha as Sakyamuni Buddha.
He had never expected that the power of Mo Lie Zhu Tian Bodhisattva was so profound, and it was even on par with the Buddha and Laozi.
Upon reflection, one can also understand this. After all, it makes sense that Mo Lie Zhu Tian Bodhisattva's power must be immense for her to be absorbed by Daoism as a supreme original deity like Doumu Yuanjun, where lesser powers would have been impossible.
After all, Doumu Yuanjun is the yin qi embodiment of the Primordial Venerable!
Chen Yun inhaled deeply and said, "If it really is Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva who has come, then it seems that we have to give up the attack on the city of Liyang."
Li Jing sighed helplessly, "We are not just going to give up attacking Liyang City; we won't even dare to touch the territory of Jin court."
Guan Ping nodded in agreement, "Unless we can invite a divine being with higher power than that of Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva, or at least on par with her, such as the three past present and future Buddhas of the West, the six supreme deities of Daoism, Nu Huang, Dong Wang Gong, and Xi Wangmu, a series of supreme original deities in Daoism, or the three sages three realms three treasures celestial being. "
The nine-headed Niu Mo Luo Wang sat there in silence, clearly showing his fear of the formidable reputation of Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva.
Chen Yun said, "Let's first see what Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva wants to do. If she really wants to stop us from attacking Jin court, then I will go to ask for aid."
The Jade Emperor gave himself a list of deities, including those whose power is comparable to or surpasses that of Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva.
Moreover, the Jade Emperor has stated that he will personally intervene when necessary.
Of course, Chen Yun was not very scared of being intercepted by Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva.
The only thing that puzzled Chen Yun was why Doumu Yuanjun, who is the supreme original deity of Daoism, later merged with the image of Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva.
It can be understood that the cultural influence between Buddhism and Taoism in past lives had mutual impact.
As this is a Taoist mythological world, it is puzzling that Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva also has such profound attainments as a semi-step Tiantuo.
It implies that under the current circumstances, it is highly likely that she will eventually become Doumu Yuanjun.
So, Chen Yun was quite puzzled.
There is another point, Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva's power is comparable to the three past present and future Buddhas of the Buddhist religion, why is she just a bodhisattva in Buddhism?
Most notably, she does not even hold the status of one of the Four Great Bodhisattvas.
This is clearly not in line with common sense!
These thoughts ran through Chen Yun's mind.
He knew that now was not the time to dwell on these thoughts and decided to focus on safely getting through the night first.
After a short while of chatting, the local Taoist immortals, such as Black Mother, Hu San Tai Yeye, and Qishou Tian Nv, also came to ask what was going on.
Chen Yun, Ni Zha, Li Jing, and others seriously explained the situation and guesses.
After hearing the explanation, Black Mother, Qishou Tian Nv, Hu San Tai Yeye, and others were all visibly shocked.
In the end, Chen Yun discussed with the others and told them to go back and prepare themselves, while he firmly grasped the Hao Tian Sword without letting go.
He was well aware of one thing: if Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva came for him tonight, the only thing that could save his life would be the Hao Tian Sword.
He hoped it wouldn't be directed towards him.
Chen Yun pondered in his heart.
Actually, he knew that the likelihood of it being targeted at him was low.
Because they have no grudges or conflicts.
How could they possibly come for him without any reason?
...
Time ticked away one second at a time.
Soon, it was midnight.
Suddenly, there was a series of gunshots outside.
Then, the entire mountain and river were filled with the sounds of "fighting."
The resounding sound of iron horses shaking the earth, coming from all four directions, continued to echo over and over again.
Chen Yun had been paying close attention to the situation, and naturally learned that Liyang City had suddenly opened its gates, with the Jin court's army launching a surprise attack on the camp of the vanguard army.
The night was dark, and the iron horses rolled on like a black torrent.
The fire torches shone more like a myriad of stars sprouted from the earth, illuminating the banks of the Yellow River in a blaze of red.
The Qidan army did not expect the Jin army to be so audacious as to launch a surprise attack in the face of water and food shortages and against the wind, and were caught off guard for a moment.
Zhao Yanlong and Zhao Yanzhang, along with other soldiers, were frantically escaping in the direction of Yuan City under the protection of their guards.
At the same time, Chen Yun, Ni Zha, Li Jing, Nine-headed Niu Mo Luo Wang and other celestial beings and cultivators were fleeing from this place as fast as they could.
Although so far they have not seen any sacred beings coming from Liyang City, Chen Yun had a strong sense of unease that something major might happen tonight. Therefore, these celestial beings and cultivators did not stop at all but kept running northward.
If they had disciples and disciples, Chen Yun, Ni Zha, and the nine-headed Niu Mo Luo Wang could have used the technique of moving without leaving a trace to leave here directly.
Unfortunately, Chen Yun's disciples, some of the followers of the Shamanism, and some of the tangkou spirits from the Zhao Ma sect were all present. They couldn't just ignore these people and flee.
Chen Yun, Ni Zha, Li Jing, and others had just escaped less than ten miles.
Suddenly, a golden light flashed in front of them.
In an instant, Chen Yun watched helplessly as a divine being appeared in the golden light.
The divine being was golden in color, with the appearance of a young girl, wearing blue sky robes, holding a lotus flower, and wearing a precious pagoda on her head. She was seated on a golden pig, her upper body dressed in white with a pagoda on her head, and her left hand holding a branch of the Wu You tree flower. There were also a group of pigs surrounding her.
Chen Yun glanced at it, and immediately recalled the image of Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva described in the "Great Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva Sutra!"
He couldn't help but shiver slightly in his heart. Although he had guessed earlier, along with Ni Zha, Li Jing, and others, that the sacred being attacking tonight might be Molye Po Tian Bodhisattva with boundless power and great abilities, seeing her arrival with his own eyes still gave him a severe shock.
Tonight, it seems like there is a greater chance of danger than safety!
