In the following days, Chen Yun has been trying to create the second transformation of his internal elixir technique, taking a level of half effort method as a blueprint.
This day, he sat in front of the main hall of Laojun Temple, reading Taoist sutras and medical texts for inspiration while casually guiding a few scattered believers who came to burn incense on how to kneel and bow.
"According to 'Break the Illusion and Correct the Path Song' and the numerous mystical functions I obtained previously, the Golden Pill should be in the lower cistern."
Now that his golden elixir is in the center palace, it must be incorrect.
Chen Yun needs to guide the golden elixir back to the lower cistern, then return to the right path, and practice to a higher level.
Now he is sorting out the Heaven and Man Correspondence that he learned in the Daoist Temple.
Heaven and Man Correspondence refers to the mutual response and reflection between humans and nature.
The theoretical foundation of this school of thought is "Tao follows nature" and "Heaven and Man are one," belonging to the integration of Daoism, philosophy, and medicine. It believes that the Tao of Heaven and the Dao of Man are in unity.
Now that he has just achieved enlightenment and become an immortal, he is absorbing "Qi" from all realms of the heavens and earth to enhance the power of his golden elixir, which perfectly aligns with the theory of Heaven and Man Correspondence.
Chen Yun naturally needs to refer to these, combined with various concepts of internal elixir techniques, to see if he can create the second turning of "Chen Mr. Internal Elixir Discipline."
At this moment, a tall monk suddenly came in from outside.
He knelt down first before the statue of Laojun, then fell to his knees in front of Chen Yun, who was reading a book, and respectfully bowed three times with a loud voice, saying, "Disciple Chang Wei greets the teacher."
Chen Yun had seen Chang Erye's arrival long ago, but at this moment, he was immersed in the knowledge of Heaven and Man Correspondence and had no time to attend to others' arrival.
Hearing the other's greeting, he still held the book and said softly: "Oh, get up."
Lord Chang Er stood up and waited quietly beside him, not daring to make a sound.
Chen Yun didn't care about the other party, but just kept pondering the technique.
The most important manifestation of Heaven and Man Correspondence is to be in harmony with "Qi".
The traditional Chinese medicine text "Su Wen: Great Treatise on Difficult Issues" proposes the concept of "Qi Intersection": "In speaking of heaven, we seek its root; in speaking of earth, we seek its position; in speaking of man, we seek the Qi intersection. It is asked: What is Qi intersection? Answer: It is the position where Qi intersects, and it is where humans reside."
The three of them - heaven, earth, and man - are the result of the distribution of Qi throughout different areas.
"The heaven axis is controlled by the heaven Qi; the earth axis is controlled by the earth Qi; the division of Qi intersection is followed by human Qi, and all things arise from it."
Humans and all things are born in the midst of the intersection of heaven and earth Qi. When human Qi follows it, there is growth, development, strength, and old age; when all things follow it, there is growth, transformation, collection, and storage.
Although humans have their own unique ways of movement, the basic forms of ascent and descent, entry and exit, closure and opening, and going and coming, are the same and communicative with those of heaven, earth, and all things.
Chen Yun gradually became enlightened: "I probably know how to create the second-level technique, but there seems to be something lacking in it."
He was puzzled about what exactly was missing.
At this moment, Chen Yun noticed that the sun had already set behind the mountains.
He looked over at Lord Chang Er beside him, "You have waited here in great reverence for half a day, and I haven't acknowledged you. Do you have any grievances?"
Lord Chang Er replied, "Pursuing immortality and seeking the Dao is not something that can be achieved in a single day or night. If a disciple cannot wait for half a day, how can one aspire to pursue immortality and seek the Dao?"
Chen Yun was startled, laughing loudly, "Ha, ha, good, good! If you have such insight, I certainly won't neglect you just because you are a registered disciple. Today, I will impart to you some profound concepts of my Daoist sect."
Lord Chang Er quickly knelt and bowed, saying: "Thank you, teacher, for passing on your wisdom."
Chen Yun casually handed over the book on the theory of Heaven and Man Correspondence that he had organized and studied all day, "First, take a look at this book. If you gain some insight from it, I will then impart some techniques to you."
Lord Chang Er held the book up high with both hands, bowing reverently as he took it.
Chen Yun didn't say anything else, and he went back to the inner courtyard to continue pondering the technique.
He always felt that something was lacking, but he couldn't figure out where the deficiency in the technique theory was.
...
Another month and a half had passed.
The weather gradually grew hot.
After a month of accumulation, Chen Yun's golden elixir had grown many times stronger.
On this day, he was admiring the flowers in the backyard and continued pondering the second-level technique.
Suddenly, Lord Chang Er walked out of the neighboring west wing.
Chen Yun glanced at him, but then turned his gaze back.
Lord Chang Er approached and respectfully greeted him.
After responding to the other party, Chen Yun asked casually, "How is your reading of the theory of Heaven and Man Correspondence coming along?"
Lord Chang Er answered honestly, "The disciple has already roughly understood it."
"Mm?" Chen Yun looked over with some confusion and asked, "The theory of Heaven and Man Correspondence is profound, and you understand it within a month?"
Lord Chang Er said, "When I was still a common little snake, I had the fortune to hear a true immortal explain the elixir classic and various Daoist techniques. Unfortunately, at that time, I was naive and didn't understand much, and didn't remember much. But these days, while reading the theory of Heaven and Man Correspondence written by Teacher, some of those memories have come back to me, which has allowed me to understand it a bit better."
Chen Yun was greatly surprised and said, "Do you remember who the immortal was who explained the elixir classic and Daoist techniques?"
Lord Chang Er shook his head and said, "I don't remember. I only remember that he said his surname was Wei and that he was from the Eastern Han Dynasty."
Wei?
From the Eastern Han Dynasty?
Chen Yun was recalling a Daoist celebrity named Wei from the Eastern Han Dynasty.
Lord Chang Er seemed to remember something else and added, "Oh, the Daoist techniques he explained seemed to be very similar to the Book of Changes."
Upon hearing this, Chen Yun immediately knew who the immortal who explained Daoist techniques to him was.
Without a doubt, it should be the true immortal known as "King of the Elixir Classic" - Wei Boyang.
As the legend goes, Wei Boyang accidentally obtained the "Ancient Text of Dragon and Tiger Elixir Classic," comprehending its profound meanings. Then, referring to the Book of Changes, he wrote three essays titled "Complementary Treatise on the Zhou Yi."
In other words, the "Zhou Yi Zhenong Xie" is a profound Daoist technique created by experiencing the secrets of both the Book of Changes and the "Ancient Text of Dragon and Tiger Elixir Classic."
Chen Yun immediately took interest and said, "Please tell me the Daoist techniques taught by Wei True Man as described by you."
Lord Chang Er spoke without reservation, sharing the information he had learned in detail.
It is possible that at the time, he was still in a state of unenlightenment, and the things he remembered were too few, so when he taught, many Daoist techniques couldn't be connected together, presenting a discontinuous state.
Even so, Chen Yun had a lot of enlightenment after hearing some information.
He gradually realized something: if he could obtain Wei Boyang's "Zhou Yi Zhenong Xie," it would serve as a reference, and the second-level technique should be created quickly, a complete technique rather than one that is improved while being cultivated as in the first level.
Just that the "Zhou Yi Zhenong Xie" circulating in the market is a false scripture, and the true scripture is in Wei Boyang's hands. There's no relationship between us, and how could we possibly borrow it to read?
Chen Yun suddenly remembered another thing: the "Zhou Yi Zhenong Xie" was created by comprehending the "Book of Changes" and the "Ancient Text of Dragon and Tiger Elixir Classic."
The "Book of Changes" is common in the realm of cultivation, and it's not particularly rare.
"The Ancient Text of Dragon and Tiger Elixir Classic" is different.
It is said in outside legends to be a Daoist technique written by Emperor Huang.
In fact, Chen Yun had seen it in ancient books and learned that the scripture was actually written by the True Immortal Huangtian.
"I seem to have a great technique related to the 'Ancient Text of Dragon and Tiger Elixir Classic' written by True Immortal Huangtian."
Chen Yun remembered that he had once obtained a "True Dragon and Tiger Nine Immortal Sutra." This sutra, although created by the two true immortals Luo and Ye, was said to be a Daoist inner alchemy technique created from the Daoist teachings passed down by True Immortal Huangtian.
"If I read the 'True Dragon and Tiger Nine Immortal Sutra,' perhaps I can create the second transformation of the 'Chen Master's Inner Alchemy Formula'."
Chen Yun felt an impulse, wanting to read the 'True Dragon and Tiger Nine Immortal Sutra' carefully.
However, after careful consideration, he felt that it would still be inappropriate to do so.
The "True Dragon and Tiger Nine Immortal Sutra" is a great technique created by the two true immortals, Luo and Ye.
Although the scripture was accidentally obtained by himself, if he were to read it without the agreement of the two true immortals beforehand, he might inadvertently incur enmity.
Each school and sect treasures their own techniques.
To sneak a peek at someone else's technique without permission is as unforgivable as killing one's parents!
Chen Yun felt that he had to find someone to help introduce him to the two true immortals, Luo and Ye, and only after they agreed could he view the scripture.
"I know a few immortal beings among the immortals I know, but none of them are familiar with Luo Gongyuan. However, there is one who has a complicated relationship with True Immortal Ye Jingneng."
Chen Yun involuntarily remembered his mentor's friend, Zhang Guolao.
The legend about this is quite interesting.
In the past, Zhang Guolao's reputation was widely spread.
Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty asked Ye Jingneng, who was accompanying him in the palace, "Zhang Guolao knows everything and is so miraculous. What is his true background?"
Ye Jingneng answered, "I do indeed know his background. However, as his Daoist techniques are profound, if I were to disclose his origins, I would certainly die on the spot."
Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty was somewhat skeptical and asked, "Is Zhang Guolao really that powerful?"
After acknowledging, Ye Jingneng said, "But there is a way to ensure I do not die."
Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty asked curiously, "What method?"
Ye Jingneng said, "If Your Majesty can remove your crown and take off your dragon boots, I will come back to life."
Emperor Xuanzong agreed.
Then Ye Jingneng explained the situation, "Zhang Guolao, originally a white bat that became a spirit during the chaos of the beginning of the ancient times and trained to become an immortal."
Just as Ye Jingneng finished speaking, he indeed bled from all seven holes and fell to the ground.
Although there had been prior warnings, Emperor Xuanzong was still greatly startled and hurriedly removed his crown and dragon boots, running to seek an audience with Zhang Guolao to take responsibility for the sin himself.
Zhang Guolao, on the other hand, coldly laughed and said, "Your Majesty, Ye Jingneng is a child who caused trouble with his mouth. He should have died for speaking nonsense. If he isn't punished, he will indeed bring misfortune to the matters of heaven and earth."
Later, Emperor Xuanzong begged bitterly, and Zhang Guolao only spared Ye Jingneng's life and revived him with his powerful Daoist techniques.
This is an interesting story that occurred between Zhang Guolao and Ye Jingneng.
Chen Yun doesn't know the truth of this matter, but since Zhang Guolao and Ye Jingneng are indeed acquaintances, it seems like he can find Zhang Guolao to help introduce him to Ye Jingneng.
As long as he can find Ye Jingneng, naturally, he can also find Luo Gongyuan.
Chen Yun thought to himself, "As long as I can see these two immortals and ask them, it would be enough to find out if I can read the 'True Dragon and Tiger Nine Immortal Sutra'."
At this thought, he decided to go find Zhang Guolao.
Chen Yun said, "Constant, I am going to visit the Guangzong True Man. Are you staying at the Laojun Observatory or going with me to visit?"
Lord Chang Er immediately replied, "Disciple will follow Teacher to visit."
Chen Yun nodded and used his Daoist power to envelop Lord Chang Er.
The next moment, it seemed as if the two of them had transcended time and space, instantly arriving at the Shanyanshan, thousands of miles away.
Lord Chang Er was greatly surprised, seemingly never having expected that Chen Yun's Daoist techniques were so skilled. He couldn't believe how, with a casual wave of his sleeve, Chen Yun had led him to traverse tens of thousands of miles.
His current thoughts were incredibly similar to when Chen Yun had first witnessed Zhongli Quanxian performing the technique of moving without leaving a trace.
Chen Yun didn't bother with Lord Chang Er's surprise. He faced the lush green Shanyanshan ahead and roared loudly, "Chen Po, a disciple of Zhengnanshan Jinyang Grotto Daoist Academy and Master Zhengyang True Man, seeks an audience with Guangzong True Man."
