Harry put his things away and when he went downstairs to brush his teeth, he found Professor Brian and his uncle and aunt had already entered the living room.
Professor Brian was occupying a corner, leisurely sipping on a cup of amber-colored wine.
There were two wine glasses on the coffee table in front of his uncle and aunt, but it seemed that they had no intention to touch them.
In a fleeting glance, Harry believed he saw his uncle Vernon cast him a resentful gaze.
Perhaps he was resentful that he had summoned such a wizard, Professor Brian, into the house.
Harry smiled to himself inwardly.
If the person who had come was not a unique wizard like Professor Brian, and if it wasn't for the fact that Professor Brian's face was a striking resemblance to Vernon Dursley's former boss.
In fact, Professor Brian's father was Vernon Dursley's former superior.
But?Sir and Mrs. Thirsk probably hadn't inquired into this.
Click——
Harry closed the door to the bathroom and disappeared from the sight of the three people in the living room.
"In fact, this conversation wasn't in my plan, but since we've met on this charming evening, I think it's a good idea to inform you two about some matters.
Amos Diggory raised his glass in a toast to Sir and Mrs. Thirsk, but he received no response; instead, the couple curled up on the sofa.
"You might not know, but Harry didn't have a particularly smooth year at Hogwarts this year."
Amos Diggory shrugged off his words, his tone calm and indifferent.
"Considering your lack of systematic understanding of the magical world, put simply, that is, the wizard who once killed Harry's parents, the one who was hailed as the 'Most Evil' by the wizards of the magical world, has been resurrected and is once again active in the magical community."
Resurrected——
This is a ridiculous claim.
Vernon Thirsk opened his mouth but said nothing.
In the living room, bathed in the dim glow of the lights, Peggy's expression underwent a subtle change.
"Oh, I suppose you understand what that means, Mrs. Thirsk?"
Amos Diggory noticed the change in Peggy's expression.
Peggy hesitated and nodded slightly, but when her husband's surprised gaze fell upon her, she shook her head in alarm.
Amos Diggory rubbed his fingers against the rim of his wine glass, gazing into the distance with a deep and distant look in his eyes,
"Harry has always been a thorn in Voldemort's side, a bone of contention——"
"Why?"
Vernon suddenly said,
"Why would that bat thing be so hostile to the kid?"
"Oh, well——"
Amos Diggory took a sip of honey wine,
"To sum up, Voldemort couldn't find a worthy opponent during his years of chaos in the magical world. Harry's parents were also killed because they dared to resist him, but when Voldemort was about to kill Harry, he was defeated by the baby Harry at the time."
"Hilarious, absurd."
Vernon muttered under his breath.
"So, it's not difficult to understand that Voldemort will consider Harry his top enemy after his resurrection."
Amos Diggory said slowly,
"So, it's predictable that Voldemort will go to great lengths to kill Harry, in order to prove to his followers that he is unbeatable."
He refilled his glass,
"And that's why I decided to send Harry away from you this summer."
Vernon furrowed his brow, struggling to think it through.
"Are you saying that the criminal element might break into my house?"
Ouch!
Vernon leaped up from the sofa, his eyes blazing with anger as he glared at Amos Diggory.
"I forbid it. You must take that damn brat with you immediately," he growled.
"Please don't be anxious, Mr. Thirsk."
Amos Diggory simply raised one hand.
.
Vernon Thirsk thought he was about to perform some trick, so he backed away a few steps and fell into the sofa. Peggy, full of terror, stared at Amos Diggory and let out a wailing sob.
"Firstly, there is a powerful spell that can ensure Harry's safety and the safety of everyone in this house."
Seeing the couple frozen in fear, Amos Diggory decided to end the conversation as quickly as possible.
"There's another reason why I need to take Harry away."
Amos Diggory put down his glass,
"Currently, the political situation in the magical world is complex. Some individuals within the Ministry of Magic, for their own sake of preserving power, seem to want to push Harry into the spotlight, using him as a way to shift attention from the recent prison break——which actually happened today."
Snap!
The sound of a toothbrush falling from the bathroom.
"For now, we are not sure what the Ministry of Magic will do."
Amos Diggory looked at the shadows moving behind the door, his tone accelerating,
"But the spell protecting this house cannot prevent the Ministry of Magic's enforcement officers from entering, and that's the second reason why I need to take Harry away."
Amos Diggory tried to keep it brief, but the information in his words still overwhelmed Sir and Mrs. Thirsk's thoughts.
The two were tightly pressed together, staring blankly at the bathroom.
They seemed to not understand what was so special about their nephew that had made so many people hate him.
"That's the situation—-"
Amos Diggory waved his hand, and the bottle and glasses on the coffee table disappeared at the same time. He smiled again, bowing slightly towards Sir and Mrs. Thirsk,
"I want to thank you again."
With that, he left the living room and went up the stairs, leaving Sir and Mrs. Thirsk alone in the living room, still confused.
About five minutes later, Harry slowly walked out of the bathroom.
Sir and Mrs. Thirsk were still sitting on the sofa under the dim yellow lights, looking dazed.
Perhaps out of a sense of pity for being disturbed in this way, Harry felt a surge of sympathy towards his uncle and aunt.
They were among the most odd and disdainful of all the Muggles, but by sheer coincidence, they ended up raising a wizard like Harry.
And this wizard was constantly embroiled in trouble.
In order to have a pleasant summer vacation that didn't involve suffering on the Hogwarts Express, Harry felt it was necessary to speak with his aunt and uncle.
"Just for one night. I'll be gone first thing in the morning."
Harry tried not to dwell on the terrible news he had just heard, speaking in a stern tone,
"It won't cause much trouble for you."
"Listen, boy!"
Vernon Thirsk leaped up from the sofa again, his face contorted into a monstrous expression.
Vernon Thirsk strode up to Harry, looking like he was about to shout, but he feared disturbing the strange young man up on the stairs, so he could only grit his teeth and suppress his voice.
Vernon's breathing sounded like a bellows being pulled.
"If you have any conscience at all, remember that we adopted you, and don't drag us into your messes."
"Tonight, it's your last night in this house. From now on, don't ever set foot in it again!"
"Believe me, I don't want to step back into this house either if I had a say in the matter!"
The fleeting sympathy Harry felt earlier was instantly extinguished, and his anger rose quickly. He glared at Vernon Thirsk without showing any weakness.
Vernon Thirsk raised his hand, which Harry believed was about to pull his hair or collar.
"Vernon--"
Aunt Petunia hurriedly rushed into the living room and whispered something.
"That person is still up on the stairs."
Vernon Thirsk's fat face twitched violently twice, and he slowly lowered his hand.
"You go to bed——"
Aunt Petunia looked at Harry.
Harry's face was menacing as he turned his back and walked up the stairs.
"Wait—-"
Just as he was about to disappear out of sight of Sir and Mrs. Thirsk, Aunt Petunia suddenly called out.
Harry's brow furrowed, and he stopped walking and turned to look downstairs.
Aunt Petunia's expression was odd. She didn't glare at him with anger like Uncle Vernon, but rather with a mix of fear and an expression that Harry couldn't quite decipher.
"None of you can beat that Voldemort wizard, can you?"
Harry blinked in surprise and then composed himself,
"Of course, Professor Branion is one of them, and there's also the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Professor Dumbledore. I believe they can defeat Voldemort, but—-"
Harry hesitated for a moment, before speaking in a calm voice that even he couldn't understand,
"Sacrifices are inevitable."
