The sunshine envelops this tranquil place like the mild spring.
Each member of the delegation found their dormitory with their names nailed on the door and went to visit the place where they would be living today.
Hagrid came back quickly.
"He is sleeping..."
Hagrid said to Hermione with joy,
"Professor Brontë is such a good person. The tree hole he prepared for Glorp is very spacious and comfortable, and he had a good meal today, so he fell asleep immediately."
Hermione pursed her lips. She saw Glorp scoop all the food on their long table into his mouth.
"What's going on, Hagrid—"
Hermione asked in a stern voice,
"How could you suddenly have a little brother that we had no idea about?!"
"Oh, about that..."
Hagrid lowered his head in guilt.
"This is a long story"
Hermione crossed her arms and glanced at Hagrid askance.
"It's okay, I happen to have time."
Hagrid was about to say something, but the members of the delegation, who had just seen their dormitories and returned one after another, noticed this and Hagrid closed his mouth.
Hermione hurriedly greeted them, her eyes darting around. She took a deep breath, slightly tense, and smiled at them.
"Well, you all know my name, Hermione Granger, but I don't know how to address you all."
"I am Luo Ya..."
Professor Laharsen's lively-eyed little girl curiously sized up Hermione.
"Luo Ya Ni"
Then the rest of the druids introduced themselves to Hermione in turn.
Next were the fairies, their unsmiling faces making Hermione feel somewhat tense.
"The living quarters are all in order."
A fairy named Tiv called to Hermione, tilting his body slightly towards her, and respectfully asked,
"Miss Granger, may I ask, when can we receive our wands?"
"Oh, wands..."
Hermione quickly said,
"Yes, that's right. Professor Brontë has prepared wands for you, but they... well, they're only to be handed out on Sunday afternoons at the exchange meeting, you see, it's quite sensitive."
Hermione looked at Tiv carefully.
But the fairies did not show any displeasure, which relieved Hermione.
"If you have any needs, you can let me know, and I'll do my best to help you within reason."
Hermione smiled friendly.
"We have to go to the Forbidden Forest every night."
Luo Ya raised a hand.
"Florimond has asked us to go to his place and study our own knowledge at night."
"Every night?"
Hermione looked worried as she furrowed her brow. She couldn't possibly go to the Forbidden Forest every night to fetch them back to the castle.
"I'll keep an eye on these little ones for you,"
Hagrid stepped forward to solve the problem.
"I live right next to the Forbidden Forest, and I'll walk you back to the castle once you're done with Professor Laharsen—Rufus and I will escort you."
"If that's okay..."
The foal, Pui, also shyly raised her hand.
"I also need to stay outside the castle for a while in the evening."
Facing Hermione's inquiring gaze, the foal began to dig a hole with its hooves again.
"We centaurs observe the stars and their movement in the brightest part of the night."
"Oh, that's not a problem."
Hermione happily agreed.
"But I'm afraid I can't let you stay outside the castle, Pui. I'll go find Professor Sinistra and ask her to open up the observatory for you."
My word
The handsome young boy with reddish-brown disheveled hair had a pale face and a hesitant posture. Hagrid saw it and smiled, saying,
"You're Bernie, I've heard Professor Brontë say that he found you with Lupin?"
Bernie hung his head and said in a low voice,
"Mr. Lupin is a friend of my father."
Hermione blinked and immediately understood the boy's identity, as well as what he was worried about.
"Oh, don't worry, I know a good place that is absolutely safe and can help you cope with those days –"
"That is indeed a good place!"
Hagrid smiled warmly, knowing that Hermione was referring to the safe house that Lupin had used when he was a student at Hogwarts.
"And Glorp?"
Hermione asked warmly,
"Is there anything he needs help with? Food, I think he has a big appetite?"
"Oh, that doesn't require special care."
Hagrid said.
"Glopp's different from you, Hermione. He can go for several days on one meal."
Hagrid looked expectantly at the little ones in front of him.
"He's afraid of being alone. When he was with the tribe, nobody paid much attention to him because he was too small. So, what he needs most is friends. If you can talk to him more often."
Hermione opened her mouth, but didn't dare to speak. The fairies fell silent, and Pui also shyly tilted her head away.
Giants, as fierce creatures, even they make the wizards afraid.
"We can be his friends."
Luo Ya raised her hand, speaking brightly.
"We can make him calm down."
"Oh, that would be great!"
Hagrid smiled broadly.
"As long as they have friends, I believe he will like it here. Professor Brontë has said that if Glorp learns to get along with people, I will agree to let him be my assistant!"
"And the rest—"
Hermione spun around in place and just then saw the girl who had been sent into the cavern by Professor Brontë walking out.
She changed into a elegant black silk nightgown, and replaced her black leather shoes with cotton slippers.
She yawned as she approached Hermione.
"I can't sleep."
The girl's straightforward attitude made Hermione at a loss for words.
Without Professor Brontë around, the girl with fair skin that made Hermione envious seemed even prouder.
She jutted out her pointed chin, haughtily.
"I'm hungry!"
In fact, the adorable look of a little girl who is half grown is not only not making Hermione angry but also made her think of the little girl as cute.
"Hungry?"
Hermione pursed her lips and smiled kindly.
"That's easy too, I'll go to the kitchen and prepare something for you right now."
"Don't trouble yourself, Hermione, she can't eat what's in the kitchen--"
Hagrid laughed.
"I said she needs to eat something nutritious, right?"
Hermione blinked dazedly.
"Even more nutritious. Oh, I think the kitchen at Hogwarts--"
"I only drink dragon blood!"
The little girl said with an angry tone,
"Newt told me that as long as I come to Hogwarts, Professor Brontë will never let me go hungry, so I came all the way from New York!"
Hermione stood still, then unconsciously took a step back.
"You're a vampire!"
The little girl gave Hermione a sideways glance, as if she didn't want to speak.
"I do have a few chickens, if you're willing to make do."
Hagrid smiled and said, making the little girl grind her teeth.
"Dragon blood"
This really puzzled Hermione; she believed that even if Hogwarts was very wealthy now, the kitchen wouldn't use dragon blood as food!
"But Professor Brontë is not at Hogwarts now."
Hermione bit her lower lip.
"If you don't like chicken blood, perhaps you could try some blood-wine lollipops –"
Hagrid came up with another terrible idea,
"There's a Honey Duke Candy Shop in Hogsmeade that sells them, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow morning. The school is already closed now—"
"Blood-wine lollipops?"
Hermione was just about to roll her eyes at Hagrid, but to her surprise, the little vampire girl showed an interested expression.
"I don't care if Hogwarts is closed or not, I want to go now. I know where Hogsmeade is, I saw that village on the way here!"
She said that and turned around, walking out in her cotton slippers.
