This is a truly wonderful experience, for the several people from the magical world.
In the dining hall on the second floor of the orphanage, Harry and his friends were having dinner with over a hundred Muggle children and the orphanage staff. Each Muggle's face was radiating with satisfied smiles, as if being able to enjoy such a not overly luxurious dinner were the most blissful thing in the world.
The atmosphere here was good beyond words. Harry thought that even when he dined in the Great Hall of Hogwarts, there was no such harmonious and joyful atmosphere. After all, there was always some invisible barrier between the four houses, while everyone here was close-knit, as if they were siblings.
Under the influence of this atmosphere, the few individuals from the magical world quickly shed their shyness and began to enjoy themselves fully.
They sat at a separate table, while Amos quickly joined the other staff members to take care of the young children who were too small to eat alone.
"I have to say, it's really nice here--"
Sirius Black watched the children laughing and jostling to grab the food, sincerely marveling.
"It's almost as if growing up in an orphanage wouldn't be so bad--"
Remus smiled. He knew that as the most rebellious one in the family, Sirius's youth at home had been very repressive.
"Generally speaking, an orphanage is unlikely to be so beautiful--"
Remus looked at Amos, who was squatting down, carefully slicing the roasted chicken leg for a disabled Muggle boy, and smiled.
"If it wasn't for Amos, the children's lives would probably be quite difficult--"
"Indeed it would be!" Sirius's gaze followed, and he blew his nose loudly, "What a remarkable wizard!"
Harry, Hermione, and Ron were also stealing glances at Professor Bran, their admiration for him reaching an unprecedented height previously, his character and awe-inspiring magical power had won people's respect. But not until today did they notice the brilliant personality glow hidden in his body.
"Here you go--"
A little girl of about three and a half, with sturdy legs, toddled over to Hermione's side, holding out her chubby little hands to present a candy box in front of her.
"Here, eat this--"
The little girl, with a shy expression, said in a clear voice to Hermione, who was covering her mouth and tears glistening in her red eyes.
"Oh, Bertie Botts!" Ron exclaimed, staring in amazement at the candy box in the little girl's hands. "Where did you get that? Oh, I remember, it was Bran taught me, Professor Bran!"
"Is this for me?"
Hermione got up from her seat and squatted down to look at the chubby Muggle girl with a deeply moved expression.
"Mm!" The little girl nodded bashfully.
After Hermione took the box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, the little girl burst into a giggle. She turned around and quickly flew into the arms of a small boy sitting at a table across from them. The boy, who seemed to be too young to attend Hogwarts, had a head of brown curly hair and eyes that sparkled with liveliness.
The boy gently rubbed the little girl's hair and handed her to a companion sitting at a table. He secretly looked at Amos and then smiled at the gathering of wizards, raising his hand in farewell.
"Hello--"
The boy didn't make a sound; he just mouthed the words to Sirius and his friends.
"Ah, hello--"
Sirius smiled at the boy's playful demeanor. He replied in a similar manner.
Seeing that Amos's group of colleagues were not so aloof, Xiao Hanmo immediately perked up. He jumped out from behind his seat and came running over quickly, and the several small boys sitting next to him promptly made room for him.
"I'm Han Mo Ren, everyone here likes to call me Little Han Mo!"
Xiao Hanmo's eyes shone brightly as he looked at Sirius and said,
"I heard you are colleagues at the drilling company that Amos serves, isn't that right?"
Drilling company?!
Sirius and Remus exchanged glances, seeing the confusion in each other's eyes about what a drilling company is, a machine that Muggles habitually use?
"Hem, hem!" Harry, who knew more about the 'inside scoop,' coughed heavily. "Hi, Lai and Little Hanmo, yeah that's right, we are the employees of that drilling company. Granining Drilling Company!"
The children around them were very interested in their conversation, tilting their necks to eavesdrop.
Upon receiving Harry's response, Xiao Hanmo looked happier. He looked at Hermione and Ron, then turned his gaze back to Harry.
"I heard you intern at that company, Mr. Potter?"
"Just call me Harry," Harry said, slightly overwhelmed by Xiao Hanmo's eager gaze, pressing his lips together. "Yes, we're interning at that company. Well, you know, it's part of the school's community service requirement."
"Where do you come from?"
Another girl, about the same age as Harry, immediately asked with interest.
"Hogwarts!" Harry instinctively wanted to say the name of the school, but fortunately, he caught himself in time and struggled to think of the names of the schools he had heard during his time at the Dursleys', when Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon were discussing which high school to send Dudley to.
"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Han Mo. We are the students there!" Harry gasped.
"Oh, I know it!" The girl who asked the question immediately cast envious glances at Harry, Hermione, and Ron. "That's a famous high school in the Haringey region!"
"Yes, it's. kind of famous!" Harry was relieved that he had dodged the question, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
"Then!"
Xiao Hanmo was clearly interested in more than just this. He stretched his neck and raised his voice slightly, "If I also want to intern at Granining, what are the requirements needed? Do I need to fill out a bunch of application forms? And how old do I have to be?"
This question left Harry at a loss for an answer, but fortunately, Hermione quickly thought of a response and smiled at Xiao Hanmo.
"The internship questions, you can ask Professor Brian in detail. This area of business is under his charge."
Xiao Hanmo looked disappointed, muttering something under his breath, perhaps saying 'I've already asked, but he didn't want to tell me', but soon after, he let it go and continued to ask.
"Why are you guys here to see Amos brother?"
"There are indeed some important things, Han Mo," Remus smiled at the energetic little boy. "Very important. We must report to Professor Brian in person and follow his instructions. Of course, this involves important business secrets, so we can't tell anyone."
Gradually, more and more people gathered around, the children realizing that these people were not difficult to deal with, crowded around to ask questions left and right, most of the questions were related to Amos's situation in the company. Fortunately, Harry knew some details and managed to get by somehow. Meanwhile, Amos was busy with his own affairs outside the crowd. Seeing this scene, he only smiled slightly and didn't say much more.
"Hi, I have a question!"
Perhaps sensing that Hermione was the only girl among them, Xiao Hanmo approached her side. Before asking his question, he looked over at Amos and then lowered his voice with a mischievous expression on his face.
"Miss Granger, do you know any girls who are in a relationship with Amos brother?"
This question seemed to be a hot topic in the orphanage, attracting the attention of the children who were eagerly looking at Hermione, waiting for her answer.
"Ah, a girl who is in a relationship?" Hermione bit her lip and blushed. "Sorry, I don't know. Well, to my knowledge, there shouldn't be any..."
A sigh erupted among the children in the orphanage, with Xiao Hanmo looking solemn as he sighed and shook his head.
"He just isn't good at this. It's a shame, if he could be with Victoria sister, that would be great--"
