Chapter 9545: The Soul

Genres:Sci-Fi and Supernatural Last update:25/03/21 12:47:11
The intermittent screams echoed through the valleys deep within the Appalachian Mountains, making this ominous night even more sinister.

In the former headquarters of the Magic Council, vampire bodies that had been struck by deadly blows were spontaneously combustion into ashes, carried and raised up by chaotic gusts of wind, resembling columns of smoke.

    "You must strike hard, Amelia!"

A dazzling silver light shot out abruptly, piercing the chest of a vampire. Lupin turned to observe the situation and saw Amelia beside him still casting a disarm spell against the enemy, and he bellowed out.

"These vampires have no intention of letting us leave alive, and we must deprive them of the ability to fight back. Just using disarming spells isn't enough!"

A wave of curse light emits a blinding glare, as if a high-power spotlight has appeared just a few inches away, causing Amelia to involuntarily squint her eyes. As these magics were imprinted on the giant magical barrier, it was as if a torrential rain was washing the lake surface, and the smooth transparent barrier immediately displayed one crater after another.

    "I understand, I just—"

The delicate, sharp screams were not only hitting Amelia's eardrums but also her tensed nerves.

The hall, every second, had vampires dying in screams, life becoming the cheapest commodity in the war. The cruelty of war was directly shown to Amelia.

It's different from when I was at that Muggle café with Amostha.

The fear and urgency of losing life in every second are panic-inducing, causing one to lose their sanity. The final thought in one's mind is to make any enemy who dares to wave a wand against themselves fall, and that is what war is all about.

Gradually, the naivety in Amelia's face was fading away as she repeatedly swung her arms, but her pupil, which was shrinking to the extreme, still exuded cries and pain. It was the unwillingness to deprive fresh lives, even though these vampires were indeed wicked.

    Booming!

After the ear-piercing roar, there was the sound of twisted metal that was painful to hear.

In the midst of horrified gazes, the battered and dilapidated main hall finally gave way. As column after column supporting the structure came tumbling down, the round domed roof of the hall twisted, warped and shattered. In a heart-stopping roar, thick steel beams crashed down.

The vampire horde, densely packed together, could not avoid the heavy steel beams that fell upon them, smashing them into a mass of flesh and blood. Their blood gathered on the ground in tiny streams, drawn by some unseen force towards the blood pool!

By the blood pool, the fangs that held most of the legendary vampire's power were rapidly integrated into the pool by Grey's magical interference. Above the blood pool, the blazing blood-colored lightning almost formed a bolt of electricity, and its explosive red light shone against the red moon in the sky. This painted all of these mountains in red.

The surface of the blood pool was sinking at a visible speed, and with the lowering water level, a revoltingly evil magical energy was gradually boiling beneath the surface. This power had not yet emerged into the world, but it had already begun to affect both sides fighting in the hall.

Whether it was these vampires, or the Aurors encircled by the magical barrier, they had forgotten that their own magical energy was running low and were attacking their enemies without hesitation. Even Xuelang's grey eyes began to twinkle with a ruthless red light.

    "Kill these despicable vampires!"

"They've shamed the Ministry of Magic!"

Including Amelia and some other Aurors with weaker magical abilities, they were filled with anger and were about to break through the magical barrier to engage in even more savage close-combat with the vampires. Fortunately, --

The air of the hall was suddenly filled with ethereal and insubstantial music, and the magic within the sounds dispelled the Aurors' desire to kill.

Lupin quickly pulled Amelia back from the edge of the magical barrier, and with gratitude, he shouted towards the sky at the Fennech.

    "Thank you, Fennec!"

Meanwhile, Selena and Eriol in the other two barriers also had expressions of surviving a catastrophe. They looked at Fennec with reverence, then their gazes fell on the blood pool emanating an ominous magical power.

After the fierce battle, the vampires have suffered heavy losses, but roughly speaking, half of them are still present. Although the Aurors have suffered no casualties, they have expended their magic heavily. Under such circumstances, they may not be able to break through the blockade and stop that terrifying vampire they have already encountered.

Wiping away the sweat on his forehead, Lupin looked at Amelia and then at the many Aurors who were bending over, panting. He made an accurate judgment immediately.

    "Fennec!"

Lupin shouted again towards the sliding phoenix.

"We probably need reinforcements. If you can bring Amostha--"

    Click!

At this moment, a deafening thunder rolled out of nowhere, and the blood pool's sudden burst of light obscured everyone's view. The pressure, like being at the bottom of a great abyss, caused many exhausted Aurors to kneel down directly!

In a daze, Lupin seemed to see in front of him a terrifying and gruesome sea of blood. Countless bodies floated and sank in the blood sea, like the Hollows Lake created by Voldemort, which was eventually destroyed by Amostta!

    "It's done!"

Mohungsi was able to withstand this pressure, but when he saw the young and handsome face emerging from the nearly dry blood pool, he bowed down voluntarily. He was like a pilgrim and shook with excitement all over his body.

Finally, it's about to be completed.

Finally, Greyvis' wand fell, and he looked at the slightly floating vampire in medieval luxurious noble clothing at the bottom of the pool. He could feel the evil magic hidden within that body, which was like a raging sea, causing him to feel a heart palpitation that he couldn't control and even causing him an urge to run away.

Finally, the blood pool was exposed to the surface. The vampire, whose face was filled with malevolence under the blood moonlight, whose closed eyes were trembling slightly, and whose powerful magic even made the space around him distort and become blurry.

One after another, the vampires stopped attacking the Aurors, bowing down like Mohungsi, reverently welcoming the 'Sovereign' who could lead them to a life of unrestricted freedom back into the world!

The Aurors seem to be in a hopeless situation, and the vampires are finally about to achieve their ambitions.

The existence of an intangible but tangible pressure made everyone silent, and they desparately waited for another demon to return to the earth. But at this moment, in the quiet hall, there suddenly rang out a cold and fierce shout.

    "Ave Maria!"

    Yes, it's Greyvis!

He suddenly raised his wand, which was hanging by his side, and then slashed down sharply. The green light blooming from the tip of the wand blinded Mohungsi, who had raised his head in surprise. Then, the vampire's eyes turned red, and his red eyes quickly dimmed. He stared at Greyvis with a confused and reluctant expression on his face. His lips quivered a few times.

    Bang!

The fallen bodies sprayed out a few translucent blood droplets that reflected Greyvis's indifferent and cold eyes, as well as the stunned faces in the silent hall where one could hear the falling pins.

Did Greyvis kill Mohungsi, the true leader of these vampires?

What's going on? Has Greyvis had a sudden change of heart?

Half a minute later, Lupin was the first to come back to his senses. His gray eyes were filled with astonishment. He didn't realize that the tooth from Mohungsi, given by Amostha, had already quietly left his pocket. In the falling dust, it slowly rose and floated to the side of Fennec, who was crouched on a collapsed steel frame.

Fennec, whose eyes had turned a deep blue, looked at the tooth, which was shimmering with purple light. There was no trace of surprise on his face; he merely had a moment of solemnity in his eyes.

The ancient and evil incantation wandered through the quiet hall. Greyvis was enveloped in dark light, waving his wand and apparently suffering great pain himself. His face twisted and he was sweating profusely, but his gesture was still fluent, as if he had practiced thousands of times.

With Greyvis' final wand movement, the intense pain caused him to let out a loud, uncontrollable scream. The scream was filled with pain, as if he had been hit by a powerful piercing curse, causing Amelia to tremble.

The light surrounding Greyvis became deeper and turned into dense, electrically shimmering black mist. A bright white light suddenly burst from his body and followed the direction of his wand, falling into the blood pool where the vampire's ancestral body lay.

Fennec's blue eyes sparked with intelligence as if he had witnessed something extraordinary.

While in the hotel of the World Trade Center, Amostha, who intertwined his fingers into a fist to support his chin, slowly opened his closed eyes. His immeasurably profound purple eyes glinted with a chilling light.

    "Soul orb."

A faint moan, and Amostha slowly stood up.
