Chapter 765 - Magic

    Hoo!

The raging dragon whirlwinds were filling up all the Dragon riders' visions. The flames came sweeping in as if an avalanche, the air was burned red and twisted under such high temperature. Suddenly, it seemed as a surging, roaring lava river burst out from the earth.

Under the eerie and piercing wails of the fire dragon, there were the dragon riders' cries of sheer terror.

The dragon's breath can reach forty feet, but the swelling heat turns an area of almost one hundred feet into an absolute domain. Within this range, the trees turn into black smoke without any chance of burning. The dead leaves on the ground are stripped off and exposed black soil quickly turns yellow!

"Charlie, what on earth is going on?"

As soon as the fire dragon showed signs of movement, the dragon riders were extremely vigilant and quickly scattered to the distance. Charlie, without hesitation, pulled up Amosta's arm and quickly pulled him away.

Gazing at the scene of hell in front of him, the dragon rider named Loveluck said in a daze, "My beard! I've been dealing with fire dragons for most of my life and have never seen anything like this ——"

Charlie, too, widened his eyes to stare at the rabid fire dragons. Shocked, he still tightly gripped Amosta's arm with his rough large hands. He didn't immediately answer Lovelock's question; many thoughts raced through his mind. Then, he suddenly turned his head to stare at Amosta, his expression somewhat grinding his teeth.

"Have you ever killed a wild fire dragon, Amosta!"

Charlie's kind-faced, generous face showed signs of anger. In the roaring and howling fire wind, he didn't need to lower his voice either. He glared at Amosta.

    Huh--

The dragon's breath roasted the earth. Some stones on the ground were burned to a bright red. The ones that couldn't bear such high temperatures exploded and fell to a distant place, leaving a beautiful curve in the air, just like the dazzling stars left by meteorites in the atmosphere!

The dragon's breath seems to be able to burn mountains and boil the sea, but it is not enough to make Amosta moved. He still let Charlie pull his arm and enjoy himself watching the fire dragons' abnormality, thinking that these fire dragons were enraged because they sensed their own existence could threaten them. However, Charlie's words made Amosta look surprised.

"Why would you say that, Charlie?" Amosta blinked.

"Wild fire dragons and captive fire dragons are completely different things, Amosta. They are much more sensitive than you can imagine. They can smell that you have hurt wild fire dragons!"

    "Is that so?"

    Amosta continued to blink.

“Have they been traveling long distances and causing them to be homesick or losing their spirit awareness, making a mistake?”

    "Absolutely not!"

Under the blazing flames, Charlie staring at Amosta looked as if his face was still black.

"Their spirit awareness is much stronger than that of wizards. Under normal circumstances, they won't be so hysterical. They will just become more alert, or maybe they will run away. But unfortunately, they are now trapped in cages, and these are nesting female dragons. They will think that someone wants to kill their children!"

    Cough cough...

Amosta had to continue denying it.

    "Oh, I suddenly remember——"

Amosta said with a 'regretful' tone,

"When I traveled around the world a few years ago, I was once attacked by a fire dragon in the wild. At that time, my magical skills were not as refined as they are now. In order to save my life, I had to fight with all my might. Now, let's not talk about that. Do I need to help you solve this problem?"

    "Oh, no way!"

Charlie looked suspiciously at Amosta, unable to judge whether what Amosta had just said was true or false.

"You just need to leave quickly, they will calm down in no time!"

    Zheng!

Charlie wanted to get Amosta, who had upset the fire dragons, to leave, but at this moment, a crisp sound suddenly echoed amidst the surging sea of flames. Though not obvious amidst the rumbling roar, this sound caused the dragon riders, including Charlie, to show fear all at once.

"Everything is ruined, Charlie!" Loveluck cried out in despair, "The dragons have burned the cage. I guess it's that Hungarian peak tree. Only it has this kind of strength. What shall we do? It may fly to the castle and slaughter all the young wizards!"

    "Absolutely not!"

Charlie's face looked even darker than before. He slowly turned his head and looked at Amosta·Brayan, his eye muscles twitching.

"Please be gentle, Amosta, don't hurt them. They just want to protect their dragon eggs, so please don't give it your all---"

"Of course--" Amosta's mouth twitched, "If I make the fire dragons fall, I can't very well go down there to fight the warriors myself."

At the moment the words fell, a purple fluctuation appeared in Amosta's eyes, and his wand had already appeared in his hand.

The dragon riders realized that Amosta was going to cast a spell, and they all showed reverence. Even Charlie was not an exception. After all, he had been at the Quidditch finals that night, along with Sirius and the others.

Isn't the matter simple, not at all?

Amosta suddenly waved his wand, a gust of wind silently swept in.

In the anxious air, a transparent eraser seemed to appear. From the farthest distance that the dragon's breath could reach, the rampant flames were erased at a visible speed like doodles on parchment. In surprise, it only took a few seconds for the dragon's breath that dyed the night red to completely disappear, leaving only four dragons sitting on the rack, stretching their necks and howling desperately but not knowing why they couldn't get any fire.

The Hungarian peak tree, covered in bronze-tipped spikes, was the first to recover. The iron cage that bound it had been burned through and shattered. It spread its wings abruptly, which were probably thirty feet long, and with a sound of metal being twisted and stretched that made one's teeth ache, it clutched its dragon egg with its claws and took flight!

If this Hungarian tree peak escapes, things will truly be out of hand!

Dragon riders took out their wands and fired spells at the Hungarian tree peak that was already flying high in the air, but the one hundred and multiple feet distance, panic, and strong magic resistance of dragon skin made their plan fall through.

Just as they were filled with despair, the ground beneath them suddenly began to tremble violently.

    Boom boom --

In the violent tremors, the scorched earth split into countless cracks, solidifying into a slurry and taking shape.

In a blink of an eye, a giant six or seven stories tall, towering over everything, appeared.

The dragon riders stared in amazement at the towering stone giant. Its rough contours, even if the most amateurish sculptor had created it, would be more beautiful. But no one would doubt the giant's strength. As they looked at it, a primal fear rose from the bottom of their hearts.

    Hoo--

The godlike giant moved with a gust of evil winds. Bending its waist, it opened its vast hands like the mountains and rivers, clamping a fire dragon, which in the eyes of the wizards was already a gigantic creature, around its neck. It threw the dragon onto the ground like a chicken.

Many tall trees that had not been affected by the spells were struggling to lift their roots out of the ground and quickly approaching the Hungarian tree peak. After a complex transformation, a new enclosure appeared.

The stone giant did the same thing, throwing the other three fire dragons into the enclosure, which then melted away like snow under the sun and returned its body to the earth.

No Fire, No Flight, Armor Protection

Charlie and the others stared at Amosta with a dazed expression as he muttered quietly, shaping the iron cages into a barrel.

"Let's move around, it feels a lot better now"

After completing all of this, facing the cool breeze that had returned, Amosta stretched his lazy back and smiled. However, suddenly, he seemed to remember something and frowned towards the direction of the castle.

"Oh, this distance. It probably won't attract much attention --"

Amosta smiled at Charlie with an air of ease.

"Probably not like how it attracted a whole bunch of teachers back then."

Looking at Amosta, who had slouched his shoulders, Charlie clenched his fists and remained completely silent.
