Whistling, whistling!
Another two lazy hits of the Stunning Spell sent Neville and Ginny following Harry and Hermione into the spirit realm of Professor Brient. Especially Ginny, Brient used his wand to point at her face for a hit of the Stunning Spell, this coldness and cruel behavior shocked everyone.
Professor Brient's power needs no further elaboration, and at Hogwarts, few dare to anger the dignity of Professor Brient. Then, the young wizards had yet to witness his terrifying side!
Now, they have discovered that compared to Professor Brient, the faces of Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall in the classroom are as gentle as can be. No one is thinking about whether it is legal and reasonable for a professor to treat young wizards in such a manner anymore; everyone is worried about their own fate. They are trapped in Professor Brient's spiritual world with no choice!
"Now, I'll give you two more minutes to think about the reason for the just-failed team."
Amortentia did not immediately call for the next group into the mall but granted them a brief moment of respite.
What's there to think about the reason for failure? They just weren't your match, Potter and all the others — some of the young witches thought this.
Professor Brient stood before them, as if expecting someone to provide an answer.
"It's Longbottom--"
"Mr. Malfoy, could I have a moment?" Miss Mali asked softly, raising her hand.
"It's him holding back the team; I mean, he hasn't used a spell at all--"
"Is there another answer?"
Professor Brient's face remained expressionless, asking softly.
"They."
After a suffocating silence, Draco took courage, clenching his teeth and said,
"They should be more flexible. They shouldn't just stand there like a target. They should"
Draco's brow furrowed as he had some ideas, but they were unclear and he struggled to articulate them.
"After you attacked Ginny, Potter should have taken the opportunity to counterattack, he shouldn't have just been waiting for your second attack. They should have reacted faster."
Cedric also gave his opinions.
The atmosphere became a bit more heated, and one by one, people from various houses gave their opinions. Some of these opinions were reasonable, while others were complete nonsense. However, Professor Brient neither confirmed nor denied any of the opinions, but simply listened quietly.
"You need to think for yourselves--"
Once the spirit world had settled, Professor Brient slowly said,
"You are not machines; you have your own thoughts and style. And in the end, that will make you have your unique combat style. Don't expect me to cram the right answer into your heads."
Professor Brient said so.
Next up were the three impressive girls from Gryffindor, Angelina Johnson, Alia Spinner, and Katie Bell.
To be honest, they did give Amortentia a surprise.
Perhaps it's because these three girls have been playing Quidditch together for a long time, they have a deep understanding of formations, and their coordination is worth admiration. In the light of the failures of Weasley brothers and Granger's group, at least they realized that attack and defense are two forms in duels, and they may switch quickly instead of just standing still.
However, they only realized it, but they couldn't switch as smoothly as flowing water. Therefore, they were caught by Professor Brient.
Professor Brient trapped Angelina in a bog, and this unexpected change left Katie and Alia momentarily stunned. Then, they both thought of ways to rescue Angelina, which was a very bad choice. They didn't realize that they needed to leave one person to deal with Professor Brient's next attack. It would have been better for them to abandon Angelina.
Then, a ball of purple magic surged towards them, followed by ear-piercing screams. The three of them disappeared together.
The Hufflepuff team followed up quickly. They were indeed a bit slow in reacting, repeating most of the mistakes of the people who just went up, except for Cedric Diggory.
He was the first young wizard to dare to launch an attack after going onto the field.
A swift Stunning Spell caused Professor Brient to dodge, and then, he predicted the direction in which Professor Brient dodged and followed it with a Disarming Charm, which for the first time made Professor Brient raise his wand to break the spell.
Of course, the mistakes Cedric made were just as prominent as his brilliance. When Professor Brient appeared on Quirrel's side, Cedric panicked immediately. He seemed to think that Quirrel would inevitably suffer and so threw himself onto the ground beside her to shield her from the harm.
This foolish action left his teammates Roger stupefied, and then he watched as Cedric and Quirrel, who were lying on top of each other, were pierced through by a javelin, and he himself was sent away with an explosion.
The girls from Ravenclaw had nothing particularly interesting to say, neither were they particularly gifted nor dull. However, Luna's detached appearance made Amortentia tighten her lips. This little guy's biggest asset and flaw were both influenced by her outstanding magical perception.
Draco's team was the first team from Slytherin to take the field, and this team was the last team among those who participated in the test that evening to give Amortentia a surprise.
Sssss... sssss...
So many teams failing and leaving the field at least made Draco realize one thing - strike first!
The moment Professor Brient announced the start, Draco immediately unleashed his signature move. Two snakes, each several feet long and as thick as his wrist, shot out from the tip of his wand. One slithered in front of him, while the other darted out at an incredibly fast speed and a flickering trajectory straight at Professor Brient.
The black snake's belly snapped as if compressed to an extreme spring, shooting up into the air with a scream, its mouth opening wide to reveal sharp fangs, directly aimed at Professor Brient's face.
Such ferocious and relentless attack made Amortentia smile slightly. She raised her wand and scattered the black snake into several threads of smoke, then turned to counterattack with a Corrosive Charm.
As the deathly blue charm light, filled with a sense of doom, was about to hit Draco, the black snake left in front of him leaped up and directly swallowed Professor Brient's curse, then fell back to the ground twitching in pain.
While Draco was launching his attack, Astoria, the youngest daughter of the Greengrass family, completed her attack spell.
"Flocks of birds!"
With a clear shout, hundreds of birds appeared in front of her. Each bird's beak shone with the chill of metal, and as they spread their wings and let out cries, they surrounded Professor Brient, who was about to respond with a counter-spell but had not yet unleashed it.
Just this wave of attacks in timing is enough to knock down most adult wizards. Even Amortentia's eyes showed a hint of admiration.
However, it's unrealistic to expect this move to put down Amortentia, who has kept her strength at the level of a senior Auror. Faced with the all-round encirclement of hundreds of birds, Amortentia's raised arm returned rapidly, and in an instant, she struck fiercely at the space in front of her. With a strange ripple spreading in all directions, the birds summoned by Astoria were as if hit by a powerful gravity and fell to the ground one by one!
"Attack!"
Before Professor Brient could deal with the birds, Draco's team had already anticipated that he wouldn't be easily defeated by such a simple attack, and they presented a triangle, charging forward with great courage. When the birds blocking their sight were dealt with, Amortentia unexpectedly found that she was rapidly surrounded!
This excellent maneuver made Amortentia abandon the idea of Apparating away from the encirclement. He stood in place, waiting for the three kids to run to a satisfactory position.
What followed was a fierce storm of attacks. Perhaps eager to make a name for themselves, the attack rhythm this time was much worse than the initial coordination. Out of a spirit of encouragement, Amortentia remained on the defensive with his evasive maneuvers and barriers, allowing the young ones to take charge.
This attack lasted for about a minute, but suddenly--
Astoria's face suddenly turned pale. As the charm light left her wand tip and scattered into a shower of stars, a strong sense of dizziness swept over her mind, even causing her to fall to the ground due to the inability to maintain her balance.
This sudden change caused Draco's heart to jump sharply. Subconsciously, he and Pansy stopped their attack. Then, the same dizziness and nausea also made it impossible for them to stand steadily. The two kids stumbled around, holding their heads.
Looking at the smiling Professor Brient who was slowly walking towards them, Draco tried to restrain the urge to turn and run, asking in a frightened voice,
"When did you put the poison?"
"Oh, I didn't poison at all—"
Amortentia smiled and said,
"Since you didn't fully consider your own limits, maintaining high-intensity attack pressure is very draining on both magic and physical strength, Mr. Malfoy—"
Three cries of pain later, Draco's team also disappeared from Amortentia's spirit world.
