Chapter 443: Bloodshed Is About to Begin

Genres:Sci-Fi and Supernatural Last update:25/03/21 15:09:56
Snape gazed at Amorta with a piercing gaze, trying to see through the confidence beneath her smile. However, Amorta always replied to his inspection with incredible bravery, without showing any signs of timidity.

When was the last time you saw Amorta use her hands?

Snape found himself pondering this question involuntarily. It didn't take him long to recall that it was on the night before Christmas in fifth year, when Amorta had a heated confrontation with an unknown black witch in the Forbidden Forest, and even after Dumbledore's return, they had a clash.

At that time, his mind was fully focused on trying to protect Amorta from Dumbledore, and he didn't give much thought to the incredible thing that a fifth-year wizard could withstand a disarming charm from Albus Dumbledore. Later on, when he realized that he wanted to know Amorta's true dueling skills, he found that it was becoming increasingly difficult to get her to put all her efforts into it.

This kid was in fifth grade...

Snape moved his lips, suddenly realizing that it had been six years since he had seen Amorta fight.

Six years - for a talented young wizard, that's already a very long time, long enough for his strength to undergo drastic changes.

    But--

Snape's dark eyes flickered, holding his breath and still unable to comprehend that Amorta would dare to claim that only Albus Dumbledore could make him take her seriously... Wasn't that a bit too arrogant?

No, Snape shook his head in denial, dismissing this view in his heart.

He watched this child grow up, knowing that Amorta was not a person who couldn't see herself, and over the past few years, Amorta had been traveling around, gaining a clearer understanding of the current magical world than he had remained at Hogwarts.

"Perhaps you have now discarded the virtues of modesty and caution, Amorta--"

Snape narrowed his pitch-black eyes, and in a low, terrifying voice, a dark and chilling magical force was surging out of his body.

"But since you think even a dangerous criminal like Black doesn't deserve your serious consideration, as your headmaster, I believe it's necessary for me to re-educate you on just how far a ruthless dark wizard can go."

"Are you going to fight me, Professor Snape?"

Amorta furrowed her eyebrows in a strange way and said, "I thought you knew I wasn't the type to boast."

"Once I thought so, Amorta, but now I may have to change my mind."

The rows of flickering candles on the ceiling swayed wildly under the deep magic, and the tip of a birch wand quietly poked out from Snape's wide overcoat sleeve.

"Pull out your wand, Amorta, and try to defeat me. If you can't, then go away with your confidence far away from here..." Snape's voice shook slightly, but then it became as firm as his eyes.

    "Never come back!"

Dumbledore said nothing, and behind a door panel, Amorta couldn't see his expression. But it was obvious that he had implicitly approved Professor Snape's actions, and even possibly wanted to take the opportunity to test his abilities at close range.

Looking at the resolute Professor Snape, Amorta rubbed her forehead and smiled wryly. She had just celebrated Halloween with Remus, but not only did she suddenly find the little Timorus Black she had been looking for for a while, but Professor Snape was also waving his wand at her and challenging her to a duel.

Does that mean that there is still an echo of the Dark Lord's curse in me, and because I was too close to Remus, it resonated with me?

    "If you insist on this--"

To show respect, Amorta put away her casualness and regained her composure. Her naturally hanging right hand suddenly opened, before Snape could react, the cozy living room they were standing in had already expanded dozens of times in a flurry of confusion. At the same time, Amorta appeared a hundred feet away from where she previously stood, walking leisurely towards Snape with a calm demeanor.

    "Then, as you wish."

At the moment Amorta's voice fell, suddenly coming to his senses, Snape felt as if he had fallen into deep water. A clear pressure enveloped him, so heavy that it almost made him feel suffocated!

At one hundred feet away, the slender figure walking leisurely towards Snape suddenly became tall and unapproachable. Even the rhythmic footsteps carried an air of severity.

    This feeling--

Snape's eyes revealed a shock, something he had experienced under the Dark Lord!

Definitely not the most powerful, but certainly one of the most evil Dark Lords...

The majority of the magical world haven't experienced what it feels like to face Voldemort, but Professor Snape, who once followed him, knew that kind of overwhelming helplessness, fear and despair deeply rooted in the soil of the soul, leaving you completely unable to muster the courage to resist.

But now, years later, Snape never dreamt that he would relive this nightmare-like fear of helplessness in the presence of another wizard, and this wizard was even his prized pupil.

At that moment, Snape had already believed in Amorta's ability to confront the legendary wizard Dumbledore. But... he still struggled to raise his wand, trying to see if Amorta could...

    "Expelliarmus!"

Accompanied by a sharp cry, the red beam shot out from the wand in an instant, covering a distance of eighty feet. It accurately brushed past Amorta's cheek... but failed to hit her.

    Tap, tap, tap...

The steady, unflustered footsteps caused Snape's eyelids to twitch. His attempt had failed... The young woman was no longer the small witch, wary of every slight movement, from many years ago at the Sorting Ceremony!

During this moment of distraction, the distance between them had already approached fifty feet.

Snape swallowed hard and knew he had to use more powerful magic, but he was worried. His eyes narrowed, and he lifted his wand again, pointing it suddenly at Amorta.

    Silent spell, Glistering Glass!

    Boom!

Amorta did not make any moves to dodge the spell. A modified iron armor barrier appeared out of thin air, which had been transformed twice, but instead of appearing in front of Amorta, it surprisingly appeared five feet in front of Snape. This directly led to Professor Snape being blown away by the explosion caused by the dissipating magic energy from his Glistering Glass spell!

    Tap, tap, tap...

The footsteps remained steady, the greasy black hair sticking to his cheeks, Snape looked disheveled as he got up from the ground. When he looked at Amorta again, his face was full of disbelief.

Snape knew that his talented apprentice was exceptionally skilled at modifying standard spells, but he didn't know how she had managed to make the iron armor charm cross such a distance and appear directly in front of the opponent. But he knew that this meant Amorta had the ability to make the armor barrier undergo more complex morphological changes...

The distance between the two has been reduced to fifty feet. At this distance, Snape can clearly see Amorta's expression... It's like the tranquil blue deep sea, calm with not a single ripple. But beneath the depths, there is an indescribable fear that is hard to resist.

A sense of helplessness rose in Snape's heart. He had not used all his might, and he knew many high-level dark spells, some of which were powerful spells personally taught by the Dark Lord himself, possessing terrifying effects that could make people's eyes pop out.

But Snape had never thought of using those dark spells, initially because he didn't want to harm Amorta, and now because he knew that even if he did, it wouldn't have any effect.

A glimpse into a jar - it's not necessarily about the noise and clamor to see the true level of an opponent.

"Do you remember the spell I taught you, Amorta?"

Sweat ran down his cheek, and Snape straightened up, breathing heavily as he said, "I warned you, only to use it when your life is in danger."

    "Impossible to Miss!"

Amorta didn't stop walking. He smiled and said, "A very powerful offensive spell. The year before last in the Norway Dragon Nature Reserve, I used this spell to kill that Red-scale Dragon."

Snape's face turned dark. If someone dug this up one day, his entire lifetime of reputation...

    Book Stack.
