Chapter 311 - That is against the law

Genres:Sci-Fi and Supernatural Last update:25/03/21 10:59:33
Rushing down the snowy mountain, the coldness merges with the warmth of the Atlantic current to form a wind, which rages through the vast wilderness outside Hogsmeade, laden with an aura of dread. Underneath the blood moon that resembles a grinding wheel in the sky, someone stands aloft, gazing down upon the earth with a slightly frosty gaze. The werewolves, agitated like ants facing a typhoon and downpour, are restless below.

    Who is that?

Many werewolves whispered among themselves while Greyback questioned Lupin. Then, he got the answer.

    Amortha Bryant?!

While certain things may be top secret outside the wizarding world, within the Forbidden Forest adjacent to Hogwarts, they are far from secret, especially given that Hogwarts has a particularly chatty Care of Magical Creatures teacher.

Last year, solving the basilisk in the Slytherin dungeons. This year, passing the reviews from the Ministry of Magic and the Board of Governors, and being appointed by Albus Dumbledore as the Head of Magical Creatures Care as well as a crucial position holder for student safety? Amortha Bryant?

But why is he here? Does that mean he is here under Dumbledore's orders?

In an instant, Greyback's thoughts flashed through his mind. He stared intently at the young man standing in mid-air, suddenly feeling a strong sense of impending danger. Unconsciously, he pushed Lupin in front of himself.

    "Chief, what should we do?"

The werewolf who was the first to discover Amortha gathered behind Greyback, asking uneasily.

Greyback's animalistic instincts told him that this young wizard, with whom he had never had any dealings, was definitely a very troublesome person. He would much rather avoid any conflict with him if possible, but he was not one of those foolish idiots. The sudden appearance of Amortha Bryant and the use of unimaginable means to stop them from using the Patronus Charm to leave had clearly not been for a farewell party for the werewolves!

"We did not harm any small wizards in the castle tonight!"

Greyback's hoarse voice echoed across the wilderness as he shouted at Amortha Bryant,

"We have no conflicts with Hogwarts!"

In the vast and desolate world, there appeared something colder than the biting cold wind - it was the intent to kill.

The sharp-witted werewolves sensed this intense and unmasked intent to kill. They showed fear on their faces, trembling as they waved their wands towards the mid-air, but none of the werewolves dared to cast a spell.

    "Your majesty!"

Greyback gritted his teeth and demanded,

"We have no conflict, don't we? Why did you stop us from leaving?"

    "Greyback--"

The melodious and slightly lethargic voice drowned out the howling wind of the wilderness, like the murmur of a deity, carrying an aura of intimidation.

"Have you not been looking for me all this time?"

    Always looking for?

Upon hearing this, Greyback's expression turned confused. He didn't understand what he was supposed to do with the student safety officer of Hogwarts, whom he had never had any dealings with. The werewolves had always been trying to find...

    "Escape."

The pale yellow iris dilated to the brink of bursting in an instant. Cold sweat poured down Greyback's forehead, and he muttered blankly, but the howling wind was loud, and his pack members behind him did not hear Greyback's instructions. They crowded around Greyback, nervously inquiring.

    "Escape!"

The panic-stricken roar echoed through this desolate world, the only sound.

"Escape back to the Forbidden Forest!"

Greyback let out a heart-wrenching shout, disregarding the yells of his subordinates, and simply hoisted his only ally, Lupin, onto his shoulder, leaping into the air with a single bound, planning to hide once again in the maze-like Forbidden Forest!

    Zoom!

At this moment, the deity descended.

The blood moon that shone across the world and the twinkling stars beneath the night sky suddenly dimmed. In the dark sky above, two large purple moons rose like shadows.

Like the pressure of the deep sea, it suddenly descended from above. Greyback, suspended in mid-air, was directly solidified in the midst of space, like an insect trapped in amber that is about to harden, struggling helplessly.

"Not even a bit of improvement..."

A slightly disappointed sigh echoed across everyone's ears, followed by the world shaking.

On the ground, countless pebbles rose into the air under the influence of a powerful magic, Greyback's Lupin on his shoulders, several werewolves in his pack, and a few constrained centaurs all began to fall towards the sky due to an unknown force.

In the extreme cold of the night, the misty fog in the Forbidden Forest mistakenly entered this world and was torn apart. In the air, countless fragments of blue lightning turned the floating debris into powder.

"Is there anything else you want to say, Greyback?"

Amortha gazed down at the desperate Greyback and softly asked.

"Dark Lord won't spare you, Amortha Bryant!"

Greyback's desperate and despairing roar rang out again,

"I'll be waiting for you in hell!!!"

    The killing has come.

Golden flames descended from the sky, like a great flood that washed away all sins, sweeping away all evil, the peaks of the waves shone with flashes of thunder. A pack of flame mimic beasts roared silently and surged towards the werewolves who were waiting for death.

The world was left with only one sound - the agonizing screams of the werewolves as they died.

A werewolf, wrapped in fire serpent, shrieked and emerged from the fire wall, staggering towards the Forbidden Forest. But before he had taken two steps, a massive golden hand appeared in the fire sea, grabbed his head and dragged him back to the inferno that was destined to destroy everything.

In the fire sea, the werewolf drowned, and beneath the golden night sky, Death danced and sang with joy.

At the edge of the Forbidden Forest, the centaurs who had been filled with hatred for the werewolves turned back with unwilling gazes, lowering their arrogant heads.

    "Do you feel sorrow?"

The gale ruffled Amortha's soft gray hair, and he asked with a smile,

"You'll probably find very few compatriots in Britain from now on, Lupin."

    "No--"

Lupin gazed at the werewolf dancing in the fire sea, watching as the silver metal half-body of Greyback slowly melted and expired, cursing in malice. He took a deep breath.

"They deserve this fate for the crimes they have committed."

The once-sleeping village of Hogsmeade gradually grew noisy as light after light flickered in one house after another. The villagers, noticing the commotion, raced towards the hillside. However, the Ministry officials in the village, who had received news from a Dementor, apparated to the village much faster than they did.

Cornelius Fudge, Amelia Bennet, Dolores Umbridge, Rufus Scrimgeour, and most of the Aurors under their command followed one after another down the slope, racing to get here at all costs.

Over hundreds of feet away, the current Head of the Auror Office, Rufus Scrimgeour, cast a spell from across the distance, and the spell extended with the wind before solidifying into a clear stream in mid-air, pouring onto the fire sea. However, apart from some white mist rising up, nothing had changed.

    "That's kindling fire, Minister!"

Scrimgeour stared fixedly at the figure gradually descending towards the edge of the fire sea, his voice solemn.

    "My god, it's kindling fire."

Cornelius Fudge was not slow on his feet, and he even managed to reach the front of the group of Aurors, being the first to clearly see Amortha's face.

"You are Amortha Bryant. You cannot. Who are you harming?"

The boiling fire sea kept the Ministry officials at a distance of three hundred feet. Fudge screamed in despair, "What is going on here?"

"You can't do this, Amortha Bryant! This is against the law!"
