On the first day back at Hogwarts, Amortens did not schedule too many work plans for himself. In the morning, he leisurely took a beautiful nap. In the afternoon, he spent some time in the office modifying the panoramic telescope that had been gathering dust in Filch's office for over half a year. During the first half of the night, he continued to rest, and in the second half of the night, he took advantage of when the junior wizards were resting to put those telescopes back in place.

But in reality, he overestimated the simplicity of the situation.

Just two hours after closing her eyes, after returning to her dormitory to wash up and re-tighten her bun, Professor McGonagall arrived at Amortens' office with a pile of parchment covered with tables.

Facing the drowsy Amortens, Professor McGonagall's tone was tinged with excitement.

"Here is a stack of the class schedule for night watch, reported by the male and female student council presidents. You need to check it out; this is a stack of maintenance and repair expense reports submitted by Hagrid and Filch for November, respectively; this is the updated list of prohibited items for the junior wizards, which you need to keep a copy of. And this... "

Ten minutes later, McGonagall left in a hurry with a joyous spring in her step.

"Who am I? Why have I come?"

Amortens stood in front of his own office, holding a stack of parchment that was at least three feet thick, looking at life with confusion.

"We are all loyal supporters of Professor Blaine!"

At 9 o'clock, Marcus, along with several Slytherin team members, burst into Amortens' office and said to Amortens, who was sitting behind the desk, furrowing his brow as he studied the tables.

"We heard the news and came here immediately. If you're willing, we can also help you patrol the castle and maintain order!"

"Thank you for your support, Flint--"

With a furrowed brow and a somewhat odd expression, Amortens said,

"But I hope you can focus more on Quidditch and your studies...if I'm not mistaken, you should have graduated from Hogwarts last semester. By the way, how many years has this school been without a retained student?"

Flint left, looking a bit embarrassed.

By ten o'clock, Malfoy, having finished his first class, along with Crabbe, Goyle, and Parkinson, knocked on the door. After uttering a 'Glad to see you back, Professor,' he promptly revealed a sly grin.

"It seems like Potter doesn't know what Black did back then, Professor Blaine. Otherwise, I'm sure an idiot like him would definitely seek revenge on Black. Oh, I wish he would do so, but not if Snape Professor prevents me from telling Potter these things..."

Professor Snape forbade Malfoy from telling Potter that his parents died because of Black's betrayal...Indeed, Professor Snape's feelings for Potter were as complex as Malfoy had imagined.

    "I must say--"

His eyes scanning the room, Amortens pointed to Malfoy's arm, which was slung around his neck with bandages all over it, and said warmly, "you know..."

"Your new outfit is rather stylish, Malfoy."

Draco's face turned red and he fumbled with the sling on his neck, looking a bit uneasy. Suddenly, he realized that the giant of a man named Hagrid, who now belonged to the office of the Principal for Student Safety, was under his Principal's jurisdiction. In other words, he was currently harming Professor Blaine's men... At this moment, Malfoy suddenly remembered a spider in his dormitory...

"Ministry of Magic has already accepted the case, Professor... If you're not satisfied, I can ask my father to withdraw the lawsuit..."

    Malfoy stammered out.

"I won't interfere with this matter, Malfoy. Go ahead as you wish."

Amortens blinked and thought for a moment before saying.

Hagrid's obsession with magical creatures and his indulgence of them is indeed excessive, to the point where he often misjudges their inherent danger. Until now, this has had nothing to do with Amortens, and he has been unwilling to interfere with someone else's hobby without a good reason. But since Hagrid now falls under the jurisdiction of the office of Student Safety, Amortens thinks it would be a good thing to use this opportunity to teach him a lesson. This way, it would prevent such incidents from occurring again and again in the future. He doesn't want Dumbledore, who doesn't like over-interfering in the Ministry of Magic, to have him step forward to take the bullet for him.

"I haven't had a chance to thank you, Professor Blaine--"

After Malfoy left, several students from Hufflepuff House rushed in, with Justin Finnily eagerly saying.

"My mother wouldn't let me return to Hogwarts after she found out I was petrified for half a term due to my Muggle heritage, and after reading in The Daily Prophet that Gilderoy Lockhart is a big fraud, she refused to allow me back. But I told her that the snake who petrified me has been dealt with by you, and only then did she reluctantly agree. I want to tell her that you've returned to Hogwarts and are in charge of our safety. I think she will definitely feel at ease because of this!"

"I'm just doing my job, Finnily."

    Amortens smiled and said.

"You must catch Black quickly, Professor Blaine..."

Hannah, with two golden braids, asked Amortens a serious question.

"I've always been unable to concentrate in class because of Black!"

At noon, Amortens was originally going to eat with the professors in the downstairs dining hall, but his underling Filch slipped in with a second-year Gryffindor wizard.

    "Professor Blaine!"

Blushing Ferch pulled out a large bag filled with rotten eggs and excitedly showed Amortens, saying cheerfully.

"Catch a little scamp playing with dung eggs in the corridor. How should I deal with him?"

Looking at the intimidated little wizard for a moment, Amortens rubbed his forehead with a sigh of helplessness.

"How have you dealt with such situations in the past?"

"Detention, sir, at least for three days!"

"Then let it be like that, Ferch."

Amortens waved his hand to indicate that Ferch should leave his office with the bag of rotten eggs that have accumulated an odor, and before he left, he reminded him not to report such situations in the future and to handle them appropriately.

    "Professor!"

This time, it was Percy and his girlfriend, Penelope, who walked in. Percy, wearing the gleaming student council president badge, proudly stood with his chest puffed up in front of Miss Krivat's admiring gaze.

"I have to report something to you!"

Hearing the solemn tone, Amortens, whose face was frozen in a smile, straightened up and became serious.

"The Dementors at the entrance of the castle are hoping to enter and search for Black. They seem to believe that Black is still hiding somewhere in the castle."

"Has Headmaster Dumbledore been informed of this?"

Amortens furrowed his brow and asked.

"Oh, I reported last night to Professor Dumbledore," Percy moved his nose, "but Professor Dumbledore insists that the Dementors cannot enter the castle to search for Black."

    "If that's the case..."

"But since you are the authorized Principal for Student Safety, I think it's more appropriate for you to make the decision!"

Percy looked at Amortens, his eyes glinting brightly.

Young man, you have the potential to become a traitor, and I see great promise in you...

"Professor Blaine, will you also be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts this year?"

Penelope, who was tightly holding Percy's arm, asked excitedly.

This question... Is it a curse directed at Lupin or me, Miss Krivat?

Amortens pressed his lips together, feeling exhausted as he thought...
